CSL's Best individual scoring performances
But at the end of the day winning is what it matters most here in professional sports, so we're also going to take into account if each scoring effort translated into a W for their team or not. You can click on every game to see the boxscore and remember the game.
We'll also only count +44 point performances, just to draw the line somewhere.
I'll try updating the list as the season goes on, and that way start building our own CSL history.
Carmelo was all buckets against the Pelicans in New Orleans
DeRozan tied Carmelo's scoring record with a 57 point effort against the Bucks
Carmelo Anthony - Atlanta Hawks 111 @ 133 New York - 01/31/2014
DeMar DeRozan - Milwauke 98 @ 117 Toronto - 02/02/2014And Melo did it again! Not happy with his previous record, he poured 57 on the red hot Hawks, and more importantly got the W for the Knicks. This kid is at another scoring level right now.
55 points:Impressive performance by DeMar against the Bucks, just to tie the CSL scoring record with Melo. Crazy this two marks happened within a pair of days, what's going on lately here??!!
Carmelo Anthony - New York 142 @ 109 New Orleans - 01/15/2014
53 points:Melo own the best scoring performance so far. Anthony has usually been criticized for just focusing on scoring, but the truth is, at least this game, he helped carry his team to the road win with his performance.
Not everybody can go as high as 55 in a CSL game. We'll see how long he can keep the record.
Blake Griffin - Denver 127 @ Phoenix 104 - 12/23/2013
52 points:Blake's change of scenario earlier into the season has make him gain confidence, and his 53 point performance against the Suns is a clear example of it. Just 2 point shy of the 55 point record, we're sure Griffin will try reaching Melo if he can.
Jrue Holiday - New Orleans 121 @ 111 Phoenix - 11/02/2013
LeBron James - Atlanta 113 @ 125 Miami - 12/15/2013Not an easy season for the young Pelicans, but Jrue's performance is only an indicator of all the talent this promising team has.
Carmelo Anthony - Los Angeles Lakers 92 @ 127 New York - 02/05/2014A player like LeBron James couldn't be far in any kind of record list. James and the Heat started the season slow, but have found their momentum lately and guided by their superstar the Heat climbing back in the standings. You can expect him frequently in this scoring race.
51 points:Another +50 point performance by Melo. And he did it by nearly not missing a single shot, amazing! His scoring numbers the last three games? 57, 44 and 52 points
Al Jefferson - Charlotte 137 @ 116 Philadelphia - 01/12/2014
Blake Griffin - Dallas 113 @ 126 Denver - 01/16/2014Big Al Jefferson is having a breakout season leading the Hornets this year. He's been dominating the paint day in and day out, and his performance in Philadelphia is a clear example of what we're talking about.
49 points:Another +50 point game for Blake in Denver. This kid is a beast, and a very difficult matchup for most PFs thanks to his strength and scoring ability. Nuggets sure got their guy in Griffin!
Kevin Durant - Oklahoma City 112 @ 102 Cleveland - 11/29/2013
Kevin Durant - Oklahoma City 109 @ 130 Charlotte - 12/06/2013
Kevin Durant - Memphis 95 @ 128 Oklahoma City - 01/31/2014
Anthony Davis - Brooklyn 97 @ 108 New Orleans - 01/24/2014Kevin has proven to be a scoring machine, and he's easily the player with most +40 point games so far this season. I wouldn't be surprised to see him capitalize this scoring record section very soon.
48 points:Another Pelican appearing in the list. This time it was AD's turn to shine and get the win against the Nets, besides Brook's 45 point & 23 rebound effort for the Nets (also in this list).
Carmelo Anthony - New York 112 @ 129 Atlanta - 12/08/2013
Russell Westbrook - Cleveland 78 @ 113 Minnesota - 12/20/2013
Kevin Durant - Oklahoma City 113 @ 130 Atlanta - 12/26/2013
Carmelo Anthony - Philadelphia 100 @ 134 New York - 01/20/2014
47 points:
LeBron James - Miami 123 @ 106 San Antonio - 11/10/2013
Al Jefferson - Charlotte 135 @ 94 Utah - 02/05/2014
46 points:
Kevin Durant - Minnesota 91 @ 110 Oklahoma City - 12/01/2013
45 points:
Kevin Durant - Atlanta 102 @ 110 Oklahoma City - 11/12/2013
LeBron James - Miami 100 @ 129 Memphis - 12/17/2013
Carmelo Anthony - New York 112 @ 124 Washington - 01/19/2014
Brook Lopez - Brooklyn 97 @ 108 New Orleans - 01/24/2014
Impressive performance by Brook, adding 26 rebounds to his point outburst. Sadly for the Nets, he couldn't get the W for his team though
