After a second round of interviews with some CSL greats, unofficial word is that the Hornets have tabbed recently fired GM Dylan as their next General Manager to try and get them over the proverbial hump.
Our Charlotte insider (who did not want to be named) had this to say on the decision:
While it’s not the most confidence-inducing quote, Dylan has had success in building a solid team everywhere he goes. They really wanted bt but when we declined the offer to join the franchise they were a bit hurt. They moved forward with a second interview with former Phoenix Suns GM Greenbear, but we’re scared that his previous success would put too much pressure on the franchise to win which they always struggle to do. They liked Myles too but during the second interview he only referred to himself in the third person and they felt it wasn’t a fit. I heard Dylan didn’t even show up to the second interview, but he won the job by process of elimination. Pretty standard for this franchise…
He takes over a team with a bonafide star in Trae Young but will have his hands full in a division with the Miami Heat.
Stay tuned for more as we look to get official word from the team!
