Re: CSL Stat Power Rankings
One thing of note, Miami and Memphis leading margin of victory over the last 10 games. They've been pretty good over that span and then Miami trades Gay.

Re: CSL Stat Power Rankings
Thanks bt - its been a while since you produced one of these. Since your Toronto days in oCSL if I remember correctly
Can you help me understand how are we 7th with a 23-26 record? Is it based on last week's performance alone?

Re: CSL Stat Power Rankings
The last 10 games do have a fair weight on the ranking. I might need to tweak it a little if it's too powerful.

Re: CSL Stat Power Rankings
Nice rankings. Looks similar to the nets but yours is more weighted towards last 10 games and his is based more on stats from the previous month. Could be wrong though

Re: CSL Stat Power Rankings
Yeah, not sure how he rates his but mine do have heavy recent form included. Maybe too much given where Miami and Memphis are but they have been dominant over that span (margins are #1 and #2 in the league over that time).

Holy shit that is beautiful work right there. Crazy that only the Wizards and 76ers have played a tougher schedule that we have with the Mavericks tied for 3rd with us.

Great work. I think Miami has been great lately and were probably on their way to the #3 seed in the East. Let's see how trading Gay changes things.

Toughest schedule of the top 14 so far.. I would say that's good news if we would win at least the games we should win, but we are a suprise bag..

Re: CSL Stat Power Rankings
Great work mate!
Good to be in top-3 since its been a real dogfight for the top spots specially in the East. Plus we were playing really bad last games so.. It's pretty surprising to see us there
I'm actually very intriguing about one thing.. How do you calculate schedule strenght?
Is it adjusted strength (eliminating your team's wins and losses from totals, I mean, if I won 38 games, you take 38 games out of the loss column from My opponents so far, and if I lost 14, you take them out of the win totals for my opponents as well)?
If that's adjusted strenght, it helps by not adding your own record to opponents' records. This gives you a better evaluation on how other teams you faced are doing against the rest of the league (not considering your team).
If it ain't adjusted yet, it's been brutal for us. I'd say we had the hardest schedule from the top 10.

Re: CSL Stat Power Rankings
It's pretty basic and only based on your opposing teams records. So basically I take every team you've played so far and divide their combined win total from total games. For Chicago, like this.
All opponent team wins = 1293
All opponent team total games = 2572
Chicago strength of schedule = 0.503
Then for the last 10 games, it's the same but with only the last 10 games totaled.
The overall rank calculation is complex. Don't have me explain that one, lol, as it takes into account everything divided by then times everything, lol.
