One Final Hurrah

Post by OneNole »

Denver came into this season with a new supporting cast, a new engine, and even an unanticipated absence. Despite all that, their expectations have never changed. To win their division and be a top 4 seed.

Coming into this season, despite continuous success, no outsider foresaw these Nuggets doing any better than 7th seed. Many even predicted them missing the playoffs entirely. Despite my almost season long absence the Nuggets continued to win. One could wonder how many wins this team could have achieved had I not been inactive all season? 2nd seed? One would think likely.

Now is the time for one final hurrah. I always said that if I turned into an absentee GM that it would be time to step away. This league has enough of them, it doesn't need another one. With life being busy and then adding in my dislike towards this new engine I made the decision a few months ago that this would be my final year.

I do not expect to go far in these playoffs. My lack of testing this season or trying out various lineups will likely doom me, we will give it our all and hopefully make a few surprises along the way. To many, we have already overachieved, so perhaps I should already mark this season as a success?

Hopefully this team can have a new owner this offseason as it is set up to have a lot of cap space, but if not , and if the commissioners choose to, I will stay through the end of the offseason to make sure this team stays as attractive as possible for whoever takes my place.

Good luck to all this postseason and the offseason yet to come.
FINALLY a logical HC Rule our work is done

Damn, sad to see you go man. Hopefully you will return one day, as the league can always use a GM like you.

Hate to see you go! I'll extend the series to 5 or 6 games so you don't end your CSL career on a sweep :P

we have a big need for Western GMs lol

Brett will be back - he'll lurk there inactive for a month or so and then come back. We've seen this before.

I do think the series will not add to motivation as Houston has a good shot at taking this one
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!
