THE Mock Draft - Part III - Picks 21-30

Post by Dennis »

#21 Memphis Grizzlies - Kyle VInales - PG/SG
Notes: Combo guard in the mold of CJ McCollum. Lee is a great shooter but never takes a shot. Vinales could be a scoring punch off the bench.
Pros/Cons:
+ range
+ scorer
+ defense
+ IQ

- handling
- size

#22 Sacramento Kings - Daniel Theis - PF
Notes: Now has the time come were nothing special is left on the board. Theis is a solid powerforward who loves to draw contact.
Pros/Cons:
+ DRFL
+ efficient

- rebounding
- discipline

#23 Phoenix Suns - Luke Hancock - SG/SF
Notes: Phoenix needs to add some shooter, Hancock is the best left on the board.
Pros/Cons:
+ disciplined
+ smart
+ solid defender
+ shooter

- rebounding
- passing

#24 Sacramento Kings - Tyler Johnson - SG
Notes: Kings should trade this pick. Players they get here are total crap. Do they even have a rosterspot left?
Pros/Cons:
+ scorer
+ strong rebounder
+ handling
+ efficient

- IQ

#25 Los Angeles Clippers - Isaac Fotu - SF/PF
Notes: Could be a decent stretch 4 next to DH. I assume the pick gets traded anyway. Questionable if it carries any value.
Pros/Cons:
+ range
+ efficient
+ IQ
+ DI
+ HDL

- rebounding

#26 Los Angeles Lakers - TJ McConnell - PG
Notes: had a good college season, but that might be related to the fact he's well developed. Reminds us A LOT of Yogi Ferrell. Just instead of having a 3pt shot he relies on his handles to drive to the hoop.
Pros/Cons:
+ HDL
+ DEF
+ IQ

- WCS is an offensive monster compared to him
- playmaking
- range
- DI
- no potentials

#27 Washington Wizards - Aaron Thomas - SG
Notes: A class filled with shooters. Thomas is another one. Dude can shoot. Therefore a decent addition to JW and DW in the backcourt.
Pros/Cons:
+ shooter
+ provides scoring
+ IQ
+ DI
+ rebounding

- defense

#28 Tankland Trailblazers - Sam Thompson - SG/SF
Notes: They need some defensive minded players around Lillard. Thompson is one.
Pros/Cons:
+ defense

- offense

#29 Chicago Bulls - Arturas Gudaitis - C
Notes: Noah will be in his prime for another 3-4 seasons and be a shadow of his former self afterwards. Gudaitis will need at least 3 season to be relevant at all. Will never be a real replacement for Joakim, but could become a decent backup.
+ Defense
+ DI

- rebounding
- raw
- IQ
- no scorer
- could end up being this years Artem Klimenko

#30 Detroit Pistons - Zoran Dragic - SG
Notes: He could become a starter once he's fully developed. At pick 30 he's decent value.
Pros/Cons:
+ efficient
+ playmaker
+ ballhandler
+ IQ
+ solid defense

- DI
Boston Celtics Hall of Fame

I actually like Vinales and have him on my list. Good overview
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!

Some decent players here. If we could find some decent depth that is all I can ask for at this point.

Awesome job as always with the mocks, Dennis. I never know how much stock to put in these given that you love giving misdirection, but they're always fun to read!
