The Orlando Sentinel: "We Want Lauri"?

Post by WillyJakkz »

During the Magic's recent Home Loss the crowd began to show unrest and display their displeasure with the franchise.

Although Orlando had won 2 games in a row (I know right, something that's actually a plus for them for the past several seasons) the Home crowd began to chant:

We want LAURI! (Clap clap clap clap clap) x 4
GM WillyJakkz did not deny rumors of the Magic speaking with New Orleans over the offseason about the 30yr old Finnish player once the Pelicans went onto draft FC Victor Wembanyama, Orlando however has had trepidation about making any moves as they gauge their young roster.

Orlando recently faced the Pelicans and got a victory, and while the 2 rookies, Scottie Barnes and Wemby faced off, it was of note that Markkanen continues to come off the bench for New Orleans. That role is something that the Magic will surely keep an eye on should the "Finnisher" becomes unhappy.

Jakkz went onto say, "We have some things to address in our own lockerroom to make for a happy work environment so I have to primarily focus on that. Let me reiterate what Steve said.... Players who want to be here."

We will keep an eye on both the lockerroom and Trade Block to see if something is in fact imminent or just a rumor.

Go Magic!

Lauri could be a tailor fit with Williams, interesting to see who would be dealt for him. Lamelo and Sengun could be good candidates due to their mood with the team but i would be disappointed to see Lamelo leaving Orlando for just Lauri. Anyway, we'll look forward to it...

Yeah giving up Lamelo/Edwards/Williams would be too much. Lauri is getting older so maybe a lottery first to take on that huge contract, as Lauri is an older player

Melo and Wemby would be nice for the Pelicans though.

I trully believe this team doesn’t need Lauri
Needs one more year or two of development from Melo / Edwards / Williams / Barnes and a SF to fill in the group, one who can guard 1-3 and shoot at high level, so he can stay out of the way offensively, space the floor and defend every team’s best perimeter scorer.

You’ve been so patient so far, wait for Williams and Barnes to develop as they are a great inside duo and amazing fit overall. You don’t need more high impact, high touch players, you need the guy who will help everyone shine. Middleton would be that guy but he’s too old for that.

This. I think you should have targeted the Kings this past offseason and one of their young players, but over paying right now to be competitive when you're close to having the most talented team in the league would make all of the losing you've gone through potentially not worth it. Right now you can probably draft that elite wing or move up for them with your capital. Or wait for a GM to get impatient and put an elite wing on the market. Lauri doesn't match the timeline imo

Hunter would be a good fit for the Magic. But they shouldn't overpay.

Hunter is almost dealt...
I just mean it, Magic has a great team and needs the glue guy at SF. Middleton is too old for that of course, and they need to either draft or trade for one instead of trading for players like Lauri.
