Re: Important Changes for Next Season
Glad to see everyone has a good sense of humor! I had to pick something that was believable, and this was low-hanging fruit. If you look at my comments in recent sim results, you'll see that I've been setting up this joke for the past week. Haha : D
I wasn't sure how the joke would play for people outside of the U.S. (I honestly wasn't even sure if April Fools was a thing internationally), but I'm happy that everyone is able to have fun and laugh at themselves.
In all honesty, yes DDS has flaws and issues, and of course the admin team will make some changes from time to time in an effort to improve the league. But as was mentioned by several GMs, we're never going to make a system that perfectly reflects the NBA. The NBA itself is constantly changing. The NBA's Steph Curry looks like a cheat code. No one can shoot that many 3s and remain that efficient, right? The guy has unlimited range. Draymond Green is a triple-double threat every single game from the center position. What kind of center averages 7.4 assists per game?! My point is that there are always going to be outliers, both in the NBA and the CSL. There are always going to be "cheat code" type players, but it's up to the league to figure out how to stop them. It can be done, you just need to figure out how to do it.
Rest assured, something like nerfing players would be a last resort if things got WAY out of hand, but it would have to be to the point where it's not even fun anymore for most of the league. The admin team would likely try other less extreme measures before going to that.

Yea, I was thinking this had to be a joke. Obviously stars can be slowed down if you set your team up properly.

Nicely done. I was about to go on a rant about how this is a horrible idea.
