Hi all,

We will be running the LIVE draft lottery Friday around 3pm GMT.

We will be using the same system we have used the past several years and will air it on a live podcast as it occurs. Once we have that link, I will share it here for the lottery presentation and everything else in this thread.

The standard Lottery Odds have been posted (first post).

I will continue to update this first post during the Live Lottery Presentation so that it is all happening real time.

TIEBREAKERS

In the event that two or more teams are tied in the standings, the lottery combinations are split evenly among the teams. A tiebreaker is held by random drawing to see which team ends up in which spot prior to the lottery, meaning should that team not jump up, this is the spot they will find themselves drafting from. We have a total of FOUR tiebreakers this year, so here are the ties we have:

3rd/4th place: Washington, Atlanta
6th/7th place: Washington (via Cleveland), Miami (via Chicago)
8th/9th place: Atlanta (via Los Angeles C), Orlando (via Indiana)
10th/11th/12th place: Orlando (via Utah), Oklahoma City, Charlotte

Because the total number of lottery combinations for all of these tie breakers are not evenly divisible by the number of teams holding those slots, the team that wins the tiebreaker will be given the additional combination. That breakdown will be as such:

3rd: 133 combinations
4th: 132 combinations

6th: 83 combinations
7th: 82 combinations

8th: 53 combinations
9th: 52 combinations

10th: 22 combinations
11th: 22 combinations
12th: 21 combinations

This will be run Live on the day of the lottery (Friday)

Pick 6 Odds (83 combinations): Miami (via CHI)
Pick 7 Odds (82 combinations): Washington (via CLE)

Pick 9 Odds (52 combinations): Atlanta (via LAC)

Pick 10 Odds (22 combinations): Charlotte

Crazy stuff, with the Wizards trading away their #1 pick just to obtain another #1 pick. Disappointed for the Spurs, slows down their rebuild a bit. Happy for the Atlanta Hawks after a well deserved tanking season though. With Willy having 2 top 5 picks and 4 in the top 15, I have to wonder what he does this season. Willy isn't known to be much of a drafter, but this amount of lottery picks forces him to change his ways, at least for this offseason.

Little correction: The Kings have the 30 Lakers pick, instead of the 29 Hawks pick. Still pretty scary looking at the team Ryan already built. But better as a probably top 5 pick.
