DDS19 Pre-Season Vote
Since we are all going to be diving into the new engine with the new file at the same time, we wanted to see if you all wanted to extend the pre-season to give us all some more time to test our rosters/tactics before the real games start.
If you choose "Other", please list the preferred option below and we can discuss with the league.

Re: DDS19 Pre-Season Vote
I voted for 5 sims. Don't want to extend the pre-season too much but a couple extra days of experimentation would go a long way.

Re: DDS19 Pre-Season Vote
5 sims sounds right. not too long to where it'll get boring, but long enough to get a little extra insight into how the new engine will play out against other human managers, rather than just CPU.

Re: DDS19 Pre-Season Vote
I would like to change my vote from 5 to 10. I think we should lean into really learning the engine and making this transition great. This will be the first time we see how our players transfer over and there might be adjustments and such.
I think if you really think about it this is your ONLY chance for live reps against real people in a brand new engine with somewhat new players before the games count. 10 sims gives you a chance to test out all the offenses and the new defensive settings. It's not something you wanna be figuring out on the fly or at midseason. I don't wanna miss out on early wins still testing things.

Wouldn't mind two weeks of preseason this year. Gives us some time to try different things out prior to the season start

Re: DDS19 Pre-Season Vote
I think no matter what the first half of the season is going to be a lot of experimenting. Preseason gets boring quick IMO, better to not dwell too long in it

Re: DDS19 Pre-Season Vote
I think 5+ works. Opted for 10 as it will help to get into the game and I dont mind spending some more time on trying out stuff.

Ive edited the poll so that you can change your vote in case anyone wants to change it after thinking more about it.drumr wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 2:22 pm I would like to change my vote from 5 to 10. Re: DDS19 Pre-Season Vote
I chose 5 sims of 10 days. This would be 50 days and gives you a chance to revise lineups and tactics 5 times, which I think is plenty. The 10 sims would really slow down the start of the season, but I understand if people want that opportunity.

Re: DDS19 Pre-Season Vote
Voted for 10 sims of 5 days just to give us more time to experiment with the engine. But 5 sims of 10 days would be fine as well. I know some GMs don’t want to make the off-season any longer than it is, and I understand that. For me, it’s only just beginning, but for others it’s been a while already.

Re: DDS19 Pre-Season Vote
I get the reasoning behind extended time but honestly, we can 'test' the new engine any time we want with the new game and solo leagues if we want to try get a little more familiar with it. You can quickly make solo edits to match your current roster ratings just to get a feel for things.
Yeah the preseason is good to test specifically with your team against other CSL teams, especially with new ratings, but I don't really see a need to extend it too far just due to the new engine change so that being said, I voted for other. Like the 5 sim test but always prefer the 5 day sim over a 10 day sim and of the available options, I'd have to take the 10 sim then as yeah, prefer the 5 day limits.

Re: DDS19 Pre-Season Vote
To help everyone out(myself included), I voted 5 sims with 10 days.
Interested to see results/strats without too much wait time.
The regular season is the time to experiment completely, not preseason.
