Round 1 - Pick 7 - Los Angeles Clippers
With the 7th pick in the 2031 CSL Draft, the Los Angeles Clipper select...
Jeremy Sochan, out of Baylor University
Strengths:
+ Potential as an elite all-around star
+ Supremely versatile defender with great discipline
+ Strong playmaker for a forward
+ Great rebounder
+ Can turn any bad defense into a dunk
Weaknesses:
- very poor outside shooting
- very poor in the 3-10 foot range
- decision making isn't great
- the worst case scenario is a volume scorer that is devastatingly inefficient
One of the biggest boom-or-bust prospect to come in recent memory, Sochan will step into the league as a high-volume stat stuffer in all areas. Capable in all areas, Sochan will need to fix his efficiency issues if he ever wants to be a true superstar, but the possibilities are endless with such an intriguing prospect. Sochan has the opportunity to be one of the most versatile players in the league, both defending and creating offense at a high level on a nightly basis. More to come from LAC media.

I love that we went from the most safe bet to the biggest boom-bust guy back-to-back. His shooting is a massive red flag, and probably always will be but he is so, so good at everything else that I love him anyway. Definitely a rare talent that will be exciting to see develop, but I'm sure will sometimes test your patience too.

Man this guy has nasty all around potential, I’m talking about Ben Simmons like ratings, but that high SCR rating, ball actions + poor shooting ratings will be tough to control.

He looks like NBA’s Draymond green. Limit his shot attempts and you’ll have a monster at your disposal

Honestly the hope should be that he never takes a shot. If you can manage to figure that out, he'll be awesome. If you can't, I think he'll be pretty rough, despite his other obvious strengths

If he pans out, he shouldn’t have been taken this low. But if he doesn’t, this could cripple a team. He has such volatile potential here. Like a hand grenade lol.

Justice Winslow, Nassir Little, who else we got on the list? Star two-way forwards who should never shoot the ball, but incredible players who justify their value on the defensive end of the floor.

Neither of those guys can facilitate quite as well as Sochan... but on the downside, he might be even more ball dominant and a worse shooter than either one, so we'll see I guess

What others have said. He has only one red flag but it's a massive one. Maybe surround him with scorers, avoid him playing as a point forward and instruct him to only drive and kick?

One of the worst offensive rating sets I think I've ever seen but his all around game is just so good that you would look past it.
Probably needs a Maxey, Monk or MPJ scoring rating around him as unfortunately his scoring rating is high too according to my scouts.

I would have taken him regardless of his shooting issues if i did get a higher pick. Fantastic talent.

Re: Round 1 - Pick 7 - Los Angeles Clippers
Sochan may be the best or the worst player in the draft. I think he needs a really strong coach who knows exactly how to manage his talents. I would not be able to do this for sure. His all-around talent is amazing as he comes in as a phenomenal defender, rebounder, passer. Gets to the line at elite level. That shooting rating is just scary though. That scoring rating is even scarier. Lets see if Clips can make it work.
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!
