I guess I lost ...

But no way I turn down the offensive set to 2, put our defense on display and we both score almost a season high in the league. Weird stuff

Besides that, we are already forward to our next game tomorrow against the Warriors.

L vs. WAS

We drop yet another game, this time to hardenwithnod's new look Wizards, Jason Tatum dropped an efficient 28/6/1 w/ 1 stl and we were -6 on the boards. We won't win many games shooting 38.9%. Tough break, we shot 40 3P% and Nassir Little continues to perform as a pure playmaking guard but we gotta figure things out fast. Let's take it game by game.

Another road win, this time in San Antonio, with Morant leading in scoring once again.

I think the team is meshing well together this early. We're not dominating opponents but playing well enough for the W. Looks promising thus far with development still on the works...

Really disappointed in the loss to Portland ending our 4 game winning streak. That's why 0-4 starts blow. Need long streaks. Outbounded and bench scoring the main areas we lost. Not sure why SJJ didn't play over Aldama. Think he would have made the difference. Need to find time for a tem today. 3rd game in a row Langford is over 45%. Think I want him to drive and pass a bit more though. Kortmaz is finally back now too despite the loss. GG Portland

113-99 win vs DEN

Gant: 24pts, 6reb, 3ast, 2stl, 8-14 FG, 7-9 FT
Reddish: 22pts, 3reb, 7-16 FG, 3-5 3P
Lawson: 17pts, 13reb, 7-12 FG
Walker: 16pts, 3reb, 6ast
Lofton: 13pts, 6reb, 5-6 FG, +25 in 13 min
Gates: 8pts, 7reb, 4stl

Well that was a way for our team to collectively get itself together. We spoil Monk (and Wiggins) homecoming with a huge late 2nd-early 3rd quarter run and never looked back. Gates was glued to Monk, who scored a ton anyway but committed 9 turnovers. Windler also had a fantastic game off the bench, but we did a terrific job on everyone else, including Towns and Bolden. Mikal and Mika off our bench, each had +20 in their minutes.

Gant had by far his best game so far. After playing his first seven games at PG, which was rocky, we abandoned that experiment (not for good), and moved him to PF to match him to KAT. While KAT definitely got some blocks on him, he was still efficient, and other players weren't getting frozen out like they have been.

Looks like we'll roll with Reddish/Walker/Gates/Gant/Lawson as the reshuffled starting 5.

Disappointing showing in Houston. They have been such an up and down team this year we only tried to stop MJ Walker which we did, but we weren't expecting Gant to produce like he did.

We didn't play bad per say, we lost this game due to rebounding discrepancy (-9) and free throw discrepancy (-15) and if we arr going to be at our best those are two areas we can not lose in.

Double header next
FINALLY a logical HC Rule our work is done

117-98 road win over Utah.

Tillman continues his impressive start to the season leading all with 26 points on 9 for 15 shooting to go with 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. Got 14 and 11 from Kofi before he fouled out and Thybulle nearing triple double again with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.

McCoy has been great since Hall got injured and was solid again tonight. Might be hard to give Hall his spot back after this.

Nuggets up next although the schedule a bit bloody rough giving us the Nuggets on the road twice in the span of 9 games though.

Brooklyn Nets - 127

DeAndre Ayton - 46 pts, 12 reb, 4 ast, 1 stl, 3 blk
Robert Williams - 21 pts, 13 reb, 3 ast, 2 blk
Shai Gilgeous-Alexanders - 18 pts, 6 reb, 5 ast
Aleksander Vezenkov - 10 pts, 4 reb, 2 blk

Minnesota Timberwolves - 123

Anfernee Simons - 25 pts, 10 ast, 5 stl
Viny Okouo - 21 pts, 7 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl, 3 blk
Ben Simmons - 20 pts, 6 reb, 2 stl, 2 blk

We welcomed back Rob Williams just in time to get a tight 4-point win over a very good Minnesota team. This was my first exposure to the new look Wolves with Ben Simmons in the fold (and I also have never heard of Viny Okouo before) and have to say they have a very nice, well-rounded roster. I remember the days of Simons in Brooklyn and glad to see him still doing his thing.

As usual, we go as the MVP goes and Ayton did not disappoint with 46/12/3 blocks in 35 minutes of action. I thought with Williams back from his minor injury that Ayton's minutes would be lower but forgot that Nikola Popovic was still on the mend. We should really consider giving Ayton a day off to rest those bones.

DET 80 || 9 asts
@ CHA 106 || 55% fg | 28 asts | 9 TOs
Pistons
I. Stewart: 13 pts | 13 rebs
C. Kispert: 14 pts | 5/10 fg
D. Melton: 14 pts | 5 TOs

Hornets
N. Jovic: 26 pts | 7 rebs | 8 asts
J. Embiid: 21 pts | 8/10 fg
J. Collins: 10 pts | 9 rebs | 3 asts

The Pistons attempted a new offensive strategy against the Jovic-led Hornets and boy did it fail. Detroit tallied only 9 assists in an absolute drubbing. The MOTM was thus Nikola Jovic, who had a typical night out within earshot of a triple-double. I don't think the Pistons will be running a Grind offense again anytime soon.

Detroit (5-3) next takes on the league-leading Sixers (8-1).

Beat on those Knicks as expected. Barrett continues his dominant campaign by scoring on whoever guards him at will.

Kuminga might be my favorite player though as he is swiping balls left and right this year at an historic rate.

We get a quality win over Memphis at home.
Only reason we won that one, we were able to bring Bruno in foul trouble and Naji slowly grows in his alpha role (hopefully). Not a good game besides of that.

But a win is a win, we will take it.

Cleveland – 84
Portland - 97

POR
Fultz – 17 pts (4-9 FG, 8-9 FT), 7 ast, 2 stl
Diallo – 12 pts (3-7 FG, 6-8 FT), 12 reb, 4 ast
Anigbogu – 19 pts (7-20 FG, 5-5 FT), 10 reb

CLE
Porter – 36 pts (11-23 FG, 13-19 FT), 8 reb, 5 blk
Langford – 23 pts (9-20 FG, 5-9 3PA), 7 ast (2 TO), 6 reb, 2 stl

We won a bit of a wonky game at home against the Cavs. Porter got 36 points and did his thing, especially from the FT line, but we kept him to an acceptable efficiency. Langford had a really nice game for the Cavs too, but pretty much everyone else on the Cavs struggled. Offensively, I tried a new offensive set (Post Focus) to see how it would do, and it had some mixed results. Shooting was definitely down for us (especially outside shooting, which comes as no surprise), but we also generated way more FTs than we usually do. Obviously a sample size of 1 isn’t much to go on, but there you have it. I don’t think we have the personnel to maximize it, but I wanted to try it, and I can see why a lot of teams use it.

GG Josh
