L vs. PHI

Rh0xxy's Philly team has our number and is up 2 games on us early in the season. This was a defensive showdown w/ PHI shooting 38.9 FG% as a team and us shooting 39.1 FG% as a team. The difference? 3 point shooting where PHI was much better then us behind Tyrese Maxey's performance and we lost the rebound battle.

The good? Nassir Little w/ 9 assists and proving to be a borderline elite playmaker and Kai "GOATLIFE" Jones is going to be a good player. He had 17/8/1 w/ 1 stl & 3 blks.

L in Memphis. Brutal having Memphis and Brooklyn b2b. Just a horrible game for us. Bad offense, bad defense, and can't shoot FTs. One of those nights.

2-0 sim against two really good teams. We completely shut off Bostons water. Good job team and good game to ATL and BOS.

Feel closer to figuring out our lineups with more data. Made two coaching adjustments to try to generate more offense that seem successful. Focused on winning the 3rd quarter and did so decisively in both games so thanks to Toronto for helping me figure out my starters were actually winning and it was my bench underperforming.

Got the convincing win over the Bulls. I forgot I had a double header but apparently one of the lineups worked though. :l

Beat those scrub Nets. Ayton and Rob Will dominated, but Quickley became SGAs dad and Barrett nursed him to sleep.

DET 109 || 48% FG | 26 asts
@ IND 96 || +9 rebs | 27 asts

Pistons
C. Kispert: 26 pts | 6/12 3pt | 2 stls
V. Krejci: 15 pts | 11 asts | 5 stls
J. Johnson: 16 pts | 4 rebs | 3 asts

Pacers
D. Avdija: 18 pts | 5 asts
J. Murray 18 pts | 6 rebs
S. Ojeleye: 16 pts | 6 rebs

The Pistons stole a road win in Indiana to improve to 3-2. Stats were pretty even across the board besides shooting, which Detroit won 48% to 41%. Wiseman did a good job locking down Porzingis, leaving the Pacers without enough offensive firepower. Corey Kispert caught fire and led the Pistons with a career-high 26 points, while fellow sophomore Vit Krejci had a double-double and 5 steals. Kenyon Martin also added 16 points in the best game of his young career.

The Pistons will start next week against the San Antonio Spurs (2-3).

Good win on the road against the Raptors. A brick fest of a game where both teams shooting under 40%. Maxey saved us with his game-high 27pts on an efficient 9/15 FGs and 4/6 from deep. Pretty satisfying until i saw Morant and Sotto getting injured and will be most likely out next game. I think we'll just ride it out and let the game decides who replaces who as i really don't want to mess with the on-going momentum we have right now.

Good game, blackice.

So somehow Monk sprained his finger on my off day and did not play so the game decided to play Windler at PG and not Brunson. What a way to get your first loss.
FINALLY a logical HC Rule our work is done

106-124 loss @ SAC

Walker: 23pts, 3reb, 3ast, 7-16 FG, 7-9 FT
Gates: 19pts, 3reb, 8-10 FG
Lofton: 12pts, 4reb, 6-6 FT
Gant: 9pts, 12ast

Walker woke up but our defense completely shit itself, giving up way too much to Tillman, and the whole Kings starting five was super efficient. I broke up our rotation to play starters together full time and swap out for 5 bench players, and both lineups struggled defensively, and zone didn't work at all.

Interested to continue working on this new offense, as it finally got Walker going, but somehow Reddish only took 1 shot attempt now. We haven't found the balance of all five of Gant/Reddish/Walker/Gates/Lawson taking mid-volume FGAs. Someone always seems to disappear.

But that'll have to wait a sim now as Lawson will miss Monday's game vs LAC.

Brooklyn Nets - 102

DeAndre Ayton - 28 pts, 9 reb, 3 ast, 3 blk
Robert Williams - 24 pts, 5 reb, 1 stl, 2 blk
Nikola Popovic - 13 pts, 5 reb, 2 stl, 1 blk
Malachi Richardson - 9 pts, 4 reb, 1 stl

Oklahoma City Thunder - 113

RJ Barrett - 25 pts, 2 ast, 1 stl
Isaiah Quickley - 19 pts, 5 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk
Phil Booth - 16 pts, 3 reb, 4 ast, 2 stl
Brandon Clarke - 15 pts, 7 reb, 2 ast, 2 stl, 1 blk

Too many steals for the Thunder led to a loss on the road in OKC. We shot the ball well, didn't get killed on the glass but the amount of extra shots the Thunder got was exactly what they needed to steal this win.

Jon, your write-up screams "I have too many kids!"

We add another home loss against the Cavs before we finally get the first win of the season at home over the Timberwolves.
Some more tough games coming up.

Win at home vs Chicago, 100-92. Solid defense holding the Bulls to 40.7 % shooting from the field.

Williams: 21 points, 18 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block.
Livers: 22 points, 5 assists, 1 rebound, 1 steal.
Gafford: 14 points, 9 rebounds, 4 blocks, 1 assist.
Musa: 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists.

4-2 to start the season, holding opponents to 89.8 points per game and 42.2 % shooting from the field. Best defensive rating in the league at 94.8. Still early, though.

Double sim against two good teams and being 1-3, we could have been well behind but came through with 2 wins which was pleasing.

124-106 win over the Rockets. They're still working things out after trading Monk so need to take advantage of that when we can. Tillman came up big top scoring with 26 points on 12 for 16 shooting. Thybulle was more efficient with another near triple double and got 10 or more out of 5 more guys which was good.

Then a close 113-107 against the Wizards. Took a big last quarter comeback to get this done as we trailed by 12 heading into the 4th. Thybulle lead us with 21 points but poor shooting again, was Tillman who had another good game with 20 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 3 blocks. Got nice contributions from Cockburn and Waters.

Portland - 82
Phoenix - 86

POR
Haliburton - 17 pts (6-15 FG, 3-11 3PA), 3 reb, 3 stl
Diallo - 21 pts (8-14 FG, 5-11 FT), 5 reb, 3 ast, 2 stl
Samar - 13 pts (3-5 FG, 2-4 3PA, 5-6 FT)

PHX
Smailagic - 26 pts (10-17 FG, 6-6 FT), 6 reb, 6 ast (2 TO), 2 stl
Garland - 18 pts (6-11 FG, 3-5 3PA), 3 reb
Washington - 12 pts (5-7 FG), 7 reb

We played well defensively, forcing 18 TOs and holding the Suns to 86 points. Unfortunately, our offense really struggled and only scored 82. Our FT shooting was especially awful (58% on 34 attempts), and ended up being the difference as the Suns shot 87% on their FTs.

We look really bad right now but this is basically what we asked for this season.
Hopefully we'll look better with new strats, although we're going to sit a few pieces until day 30 when they will be moved once again. I'm never a fan of losing and will always try to win but losing this time at least helps our pick which is the goal.
