We've heard Orlando has made a push for a Superstar player and has gone as far as making an offer of or putting together a package of players and picks to try to get a deal complete. Players included were Jonas Valanciunas, Aaron Gordon, and Zach LaVine, the picks we've heard floating around was either the Heat or Orlando's 2015 1st and the Magic '16 1st as well though we can't confirm this at the moment nor the unidentified player Orlando is or was after.
We do know that a similar offer for Paul George of the Indiana Pacers was indeed on the table prior to the 2014 Draft...

Thats a pretty heavy offer there, wonder who the superstar is. Maybe a reunion with Harden? Or possibly another trade with the Thunder?

That would be pretty messed up if Lavine ever got on Kobe's level. No way he should have that much potential. That would be absolutely ridiculous if it were true.

Bryant has/had much better defensive talent. In the sim, at least, Bryant has always been a good defender and can hawk balls as well. Plus, Kobe's DIS and IQ are worlds above LaVine and - since he's super raw - there's the risk he never meets his potential.

I believe 6-6 180lbs should allow him to become a very solid defender. Dont know his Potentials by heart, but I remember looking at him I thought "well its Kobe Bryant".

Yeah - plus, like Kobe in the sim (never understood this) LaVine's handle is pretty rough for a starting SG. Should be turnover prone as soon as his usage increases.

I hope LaVine does develop into a Kobe Bryant, even current level CSL 20+ppg scorer Kobe Bryant would suffice during Zach's rookie contract yrs and YES it would be an insane overpay but that's what has to be done if you really want a player... if the rumor is in fact true

Also Gordon has performed very well as has Jonas but it appears LaVine would be the huge catch.

It's early in the season though so we will see if something materializes.
