Knicks Acquire Kirilenko and Birch

The Knicks in a trade with Miami acquire Andrei Kirilenko. Still looking for more defense they like what they saw in Andrei "he's a hustle guy" is the way coach Keene describe him. "He will come off the bench and be pared with JR Smith and the 2nd unit"

Also with the trade they acquired a young PF/C Khem Birch and a 2nd round pick. Khem will probably be sent to the D-League so he can get more playing time.
The Knicks are gearing up for a playoff run and and defense will be the key. Coach Keene like the Knicks lineup and the way their playing as a team so don't look for them to make any major changes.

SG - Roy Marble/JR Smith
SF - Carmelo Anthony/Andrei Kirilenko
PF - Thaddeus Young/Andrei Kirilenko/Andrea Bargnani

Good trade. Was one of the 4-way deals I proposed to Miami, don't remember if I sent it to you.. But nice to see that this swap happened because it made a lot of sense

Birch is intriguing and could turn into an end-of-the-rotation big for you down the road. Kirilenko still can play D and that's all you're looking for in a deal like this.

No idea about Birch but I like Kirilenko a lot. A very decent glue guy to have off the bench and a intelligent veteran as well. Too bad his first game will be at MEM :)
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!

Kirilenko + Marble on the wings is tough.. very tough. You could even use Melo as PF for some minutes now.. You are doing a good in NY.
