2021 Rookie Ladder

Player Spotlight; Semi Ojeleye

There was a lot of talk about how Strategies affect a players stats. Ojeleye is in a unique situation where he played 31 min/game on a high pace high zone team(Miami), and 31 min/game on a low pace low zone team(Indiana). Ojeleye also played PF for Miami and SF for Indiana. Lets take a look at ojeleyes stats across the board.

TS%
Combined 0.551
Miami 0.51
Indiana 0.58

Semi was significantly more efficient in Indiana. This makes sense as high pace equals quick inefficient shots.

PTS/36
Combined 16
Miami 14.5
Indiana 17.3

Semi scored almost 3 more points per 36 in Indiana vs Miami. This isnt surprising. More efficient = more points. Being Miami's 3rd/4th option and Indiana's 2nd/3rd option also plays a factor.

REB/36
Combined 7.4
Miami 9.3
Indiana 5.8

Semi grabbed significantly more rebounds in Miami than Indiana. No surprise here as zone turns the game into a brick fest. The move from the post to the wing also plays a significant role in the drop in rebounds.

STLS/36
Combined 1
Miami 0.54
Indiana 1.41

Like rebounds steals is the other stat that was expected. When you zone you dont go for steals.

PER
Combined 18
Miami 16.9
Indiana 18.9

Based on all the stats above its not surprising Semi's PER is significantly better in Indiana

Blocks/Assists/Turn-overs

These stats didnt change much from Miami to Indiana. Semi's Turnovers did go up quite a bit when he joined Indiana, but I think that has more to do with playing on the wing in Indiana and less to do with strategies. His Assists also went down slightly in Indiana, but that probably has more to do with Semi being surrounded by scorers in Miami.

Below you will find Semi's Miami stats and his Indiana stats.

Lauri and Fox did their things
Still expect my boy to win it but honestly any of the two is fair game.

Nice compare for Semi!!

Unfortunately Vezenkov and Yurtseven (mostly due to injury) could not keep pace in the 2nd half of the season.
But still positive surprised by both.

What does pace mean? If it's what I think it is, we are one of the slowest paced teams in the CSL (2 out of 10), so that 1.0 does not make much sense.

I think pace is rounded. High pace teams therefore end up around 1.06-1.14 = 1.1 and low pace teams somewhere around 1 with it being rounded to 1. The pace sign for Ingram is for example very dark green, so it should be the very low end.

Yeah that's right, pace is rounded. Atlanta/Milwaukee are the slower teams and Miami/Houston are the faster teams. So if Milwaukee is .95 and Miami is 1.05

Milwaukee player hypothetical rating 100 per 95 possessions so the rating would be adjusted to 105.3
Miami player hypothetical rating 100 per 105 possessions so the rating would be adjusted to 95.2

Btw why aren't we slow with our 1 pace all season but like 3 games :P?

Thanks. I would like to take a deeper look at pace when I have the time.

Good to see Alkins working his way back to 16th after being out of this list for most of the year, can't wait to see how he does next year!
