The east sub matrix lost this game, one of Davis/Simmons shouldve been on the court at all times. The east bench were -29 in 20 minutes. Doiug played this like a playoff game marcos played it like an all-star game.

Not this year, we did it a little different. Next year the voting will be back with a potential twist which was discussed in this podcast

We got beaten pretty hard!

But that's fine, I wanted to do that as an exhibition game, indeed like Silo said my DC reflected that. Our bench lost the game, but that's fine!

A few thoughts here.

1) The West's starters averaged 28.8 mins vs the East's 28 mins. So the narrative the East didn't play their starters as long is not true.

2) The main difference in playing time was that the West played their 6th and 7th men vs the East which split up their bench minutes between their 6th through 10th men. Given the depth and talent advantage of the East, that's not an excuse to lose by 18 points. To a lesser extent, it doesn't look like the East staggered their lineups as much. But again, given the talent/depth the East had, their bench should not have been blown out that badly, and their 1st unit should have been much more dominating.

3) Yeah, I treated it more like a playoff game (while sticking with the minutes restrictions) because that was the point of the showdown. Otherwise it's not much different to other all-star games. The point was to see what would happen when both GMs played to win and put together the roster, DC, and strats to try to accomplish that.

I was finally able to watch the podcast and was surprised to hear Jon instead of Marcos :-)
And I have to admit it was the first time I saw the game simulation in the 2019 version, totally forgot the game has that lol

But it made for a good show and a good beating for the East. And seeing it makes the performance of Mitchell, Bagley and Monk even more impressive. They actually could hit a shot, not like the brick champions on the East.
Good job guys, that was entertaining.
Still, I think best of 7 goes to the East :P

1) minutesd werent the issue, although having the easts best players play 32 minutes wouldve helped.

2) the main difference was the west staggered and the east didnt. There is diminishing returns with AD and Simmons they needed to be split up so one is on the court the entire game. That wouldve significantly helped the bench. While not hurting the starters.

3) It was basically a playoff rotation vs an exhibition rotation. Nothing wrong with that, we still got to see how good mitchell is.
