Houston's looking to make some moves particularly towards the fringe of our rotation:

I've probably never said these words before in the CSL, but I'm looking for a solid mid-range scorer that can feasibly play SF next to Winslow and KAT. Bonus points if the player can rebound at a high level.

Briante Weber: stud defender (do want to see a bit more of him before agreeing to anything, but should be available at some point)

Damyean Dotson: 3&D role player

Josh Davis: great rebounder

Oshae Brissett: versatile defensive guy who will not shoot at all

James Thompson IV: Competent low usage big with some defensive versatility

Also have 2029 IND 1st (11-30), 2029 CHA 2nd, 2030 WAS 2nd, 2031 HOU 1st to throw around in trades

Updated following Paschall trade.

Shopping Briante Weber and his 82 DEF / 82 STL, and could look at moving Denzel Livingston as well.

Looking at a younger PG who can shoot, and a SF (or PF) who can score from 3 levels.

Re: Houston Rockets Trade Block - KAT

Post by KW »

Received an interesting offer for KAT that I'm mulling over, so making him available.

He is by far the best player on this Rockets team and he's not going cheap, but this team needs a makeover, and the potential move allows me to re-shape some things, and look at the future, while still remaining moderately competitive in the present. I don't have any real interest in tanking at this point.

In addition, Justise Winslow, Briante Weber, Denzel Livingston are also available.

Monk/White/Russell/Duval
Winslow/Rahkman/Carter
Dotson/Nwora/Bey
Paschall/Woodard
Towns/Davis/Carey

No idea what to expect from this new look Rockets team but the big thing here is we need an upgrade at PF/C off the bench, or a starter that pushes Paschall to a bench role.

I want to see how Winslow performs starting at SG ahead of the deadline but if you want the CSL's best defender, I am as receptive to trade offers as I've ever been.

White/Monk/Middleton/Winslow/Towns
Rahkman/Nwora/Bey/Paschall/Carey[+]
Russell/Carter

We really need a backup center, who can rebound. There isn't much expendable/tradeable salary available, but a min salary player can be taken in a 4 team trade. Let me know what you have!

A stretch 4 would be a nice addition, but barring a last minute offer for Winslow (come strong!), Paschall, Carter, Carey, or Rahkman, we are likely done for the deadline, as we can't really salary match for anything but a rookie scale contract.

I have yet to field more than a couple of offers, so nothing anywhere close to final, but I believe the Rockets have run their course with this group, and the plan is to make the entire roster available for the right rebuilding package. If I can find the right deal for Monk and/or KAT, I will plunge into a rebuild. If not, we'll look to re-make the supporting cast around them. Either way, making guys like Winslow, Middleton, etc available and fielding S&Ts on White, Paschall, and so on.

I may very well choose to hold onto one of Monk/KAT, trading one doesn't mean I have to trade the other, but it makes it more likely.

Vets:

Karl-Anthony Towns - the best C in the league as far as I'm concerned. As open to trading him and rebuilding as I've ever been, but it has to be a nice rebuilding package of picks/young talent.

Malik Monk (Player Option) - If he declines the option, I'll bring him back on a 5-year max no sweat. Either way, I'm as open as I've ever been to trading Monk and rebuilding with picks/young talent, whether that's through a regular trade or S&T.

Justise Winslow - best perimeter defender in the game right now hands down. he's been locking down primary ball-handlers and scorers all season long. offer accordingly.

Khris Middleton - basically a 1 year expiring plus a TO the following year. Highly efficient low-ish usage wing player who Ds up well

Young Talent:

Jordan Nwora - scorer with lots of upside. Probably holding onto him, especially if we do wind up rebuilding

Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman - outstanding shooter and passer

Saddiq Bey - elite 3-point shooting specialist that I need to make shoot more often

Vernon Carey - post scorer who will get a major boost in touches if KAT is traded, maybe even as a starter

Nahziah Carter - should be a moderately serviceable 3&D eventually

Pending Free Agents:

Derrick White (UFA) - has Bird Rights and will field S&T offers. Good defender, shooter, playmaker who won't take shots away from a star guard.

Eric Paschall (RFA) - unsure what I'm doing with him yet, might bring him back if cheap, or S&T if there's interest.

Mamadou N'Diaye (UFA) - will have early bird rights

Kerwin Roach (UFA)

Stefano Tonut (UFA)

Picks:

2029 1st [PHI]
2029 2nd [PHI] - to be forfeited for lux tax
2030 1st [HOU] - not available in case of rebuild
2030 1st [PHX]
2030 2nd [CHA]
2031 1st [HOU] - not available in case of rebuild
2031 2nd [LAL]
2031 2nd [CHA]
2031 2nd [DET]
2032 1st [HOU] - not available in case of rebuild
2032 2nd [HOU]

KAT is in the late stages of being traded. Winslow and Middleton are next on block, and expect to move both this summer. Monk is open but I think I prefer to keep barring something huge.
