At this rate Maker may end up joining the conversation. Well, now seriously, he won't, but definitely a candidate for MIP.

Re: The Case for the most dominate big man in the CSL
the Thon case is fairly unique because he has spent the last two seasons playing 7 minutes per game for no good reason, and has since bounced back to his previous form now that he's got starter minutes again. He's been in the ballpark of these numbers before (minus the rebounds)
2027-28: 16.5pts, 9.1reb, 0.6blk, 0.6stl, 50.7/37.5/63.2
2022-23: 15.6pts, 5.3reb, 1.4blk, 1.4stl, 46.7/36.5/66.6
sure he's the best he's ever been but he's not the most improved in the league

Main difference is efficiency and rebounds. As for why he did not play much these last two seasons ... to be able to bring him back long term on a cheap contract, and once that happened, work on his preferences.KW wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 7:58 pmthe Thon case is fairly unique because he has spent the last two seasons playing 7 minutes per game for no good reason, and has since bounced back to his previous form now that he's got starter minutes again. You're telling me you sat him for damn near two seasons just to be able to re-sign him and save a few bucks? Re: The Case for the most dominate big man in the CSL
Really depends on if you're a ratings or stat GM.
No low minutes or low stats are going to make me not go after someone if the ratings are there and that would only scare off the stat GMs.

Re: The Case for the most dominate big man in the CSL
Yes, but more than a few. I did the same with Vanderbilt, too. As I have always said, this was a long term plan set many seasons ago. The only way to have a contender with a stable roster is to have good role players at "cheap" contracts. If not, you have to sign veterans on minimum deals each season.Rizzo wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 11:58 pmYou're telling me you sat him for damn near two seasons just to be able to re-sign him and save a few bucks? Yes, I'm also a "ratings GM". But that was a way of reducing potential suitors, as some look mainly at stats.
