Smash Hit Song Lands in Easy

In a shocking sweep of events, the New Orleans Pelicans trade away Sinan Guler, Donte DIVincenzo, and the upcoming 15th Pick of the draft for defensive anchor, and title of Sheck Wes' hit song, Mo Bamba, in a massive 4-team trade to start the offseason. Many pundits considered Bamba an untradeable player for Toronto, Guler an untradeable player for New Orleans, and Patton an untradeable player for Indiana. But in an odd turn of events, each team makes a trade towards fitting their agenda.

Heading into the offseason, New Orleans reportedly had no plans to move on from their elite floor general. Heck they hadn't planned on making any significant moves to their roster at all, happy to ride their roster into next season with internal growth and a new rookie. But they did their due diligence anyways, asking around the trade market for valuations on some players. After a couple of inquiries, New Orleans had a raw 3-team deal on their hands revolving around Justin Patton, Mo Bamba, and Sinan Guler. This trade had come out of nowhere, as Toronto wasn't heavily shopping Bamba and New Orleans wasn't heavily shopping Guler. A couple of times, this trade almost fell through. There was at least a 24 hour span in which I truly believed the trade had fallen through. But we found a version that made everyone satisfied, and all three teams were satisfied with the deal. Denver was added as a last minute inclusion, as Toronto felt the need to trade away their newly acquired picks.

Sinan Guler will be sorely missed in New Orleans. Although he only played 1 season, he played an important role in leading this team to their 1st real playoff birth of the new core.

On to Mo Bamba. One of the best defensive anchor's in the league, Mo Bamba can be argued that he is THE perfect center to play next to Lauri Markkanen. In an engine that places a big importance on team fit and playstyle, Mohamed Bamba's defense-first playstyle exemplifies the type of playstyle New Orleans are trying to play. In a scheme full of man-to-man defense, Bamba's versatility and length makes him a terror on defense. His low usage-high efficiency offense of lobs, rim rolls, putback dunks, and aggression are enough to keep defenders honest on that end of the floor. New Orleans are disappointed with trading away Sinan Guler and Donte DiVincenzo, but they are more than happy with their acquisition.

Now that the New Orleans Pelicans don't have their pick, they don't have much to do until Free Agency. Until then, they'll sit back, put their legs up, and look at the words
|SF: Nassir Little - PF: Lauri Markkanen - C: Mohamed Bamba|

Also, due to the acquisition of Mohamed Bamba, Damian Jones may be on his way out. In spite of his solid one-and-a-half seasons in New Orleans so far, he's been upgraded upon.

Always been a fan of Bamba and thinks he's a good piece to build around on this team.
