An Awkward Feeling

Post by Ramcus »

Jusuf Nurkic stepped into the locker room, deafened by the cheers of the Oklahoma City crowd. He sits down, and wonders what got him to this point of his career. The now veteran big man had just finished an extraordinary game putting his team on his back to get the win. This was a big win for the team, as New Orleans needed this win to achieve their offseason goal: To make the playoffs. But this type of performance was nothing new for the former Sacramento King star, who's always had the responsibility of being the team leader. But this time it's different. On a different team, given a different role, Jusuf Nurkic still knows who he is and who he wants to be.
Jusuf Nurkic wrote:It's just a weird feeling, having to fly back to Sacramento and play them with a different uniform. I'm used to playing against them in scrimmages, but I never thought I'd see the day where I have to play against Sacramento in an official league game. I grew up there as a CSL player, I raised my family in Sacramento, Sacramento is my home. Even if that is the case, I'll still give 110% on the court. I'm excited to play for my new team, and excited to face off against my old team.
We're without Markelle Fultz until game 5 or 6 of the first round, so it's vital we get at least one win before he returns.

Oh man, I completely forgot Nurkic made his way to you guys and now we're about to do battle with a legend of the franchise.

Two time Kings champion returning home. Will definitely wish him all the best personally in this series but hopefully he doesn't cause too much trouble for us. Will have a good role with the unfortunate injury to Lauri.

Wow that was a massive game from Nurk. 29 pts, 12 rebs, 5 ast, 4 stl, 3 blk.. beast. I'm sure he's not looking forward to facing the Kings, especially with your injuries. He'll have to average 40/20 lol

I think as this season as demonstrated, Lauri didn't really matter to your team's success or lack thereof.

I think long term, it was probably a mistake to gun for the playoffs to only be knocked out quickly, If you missed the playoffs, and lost two more games you would have drafted 9th in a very top heavy draft. While there is always a player that falls, there is a very good chance you could have drafted a very good starter at 9 and instead stuck with a role player at 15.
FINALLY a logical HC Rule our work is done

@OneNole. I did consider that scenario during the season. But my thoughts on the draft eventually put me off enough. The quality of the top 5-8 drops off rather quickly, and I'd rather take my chances with a role player dropping than picking the last remaining best player available regardless on position.

That and the rookie boosts can change everything. Although not like you can rely on that obviously.
