2027 All Star Rosters Announced
Thanks to all who voted as we had 25 GMs vote in this years ASG.
Apologies for getting this out later than normal (sorry Sim team), but they will be running all of the All Star festivities very shortly now that my slow behind finally added these up.
Below are the rosters for the game tonight:
EAST
Starters - total votes (1st place votes):
Guard - Marcus Smart - 108 (21) ** Eastern Conference High Vote Total
Guard - De'Aaron Fox - 85 (10)
F/C - DeAndre Ayton - 107 (17)
F/C - Zion Williamson - 105 (18)
F/C - Ben Simmons - 103 (19)
Reserves:
Guard - Shai-Gilgeous Alexander - 52 (6)
Guard - Dennis Smith Jr - 42 (4)
F/C - Jabari Parker - 83 (11)
F/C - Stanley Johnson Jr - 68 (3)
F/C - Brandon Ingram - 44 (3)
Wildcards:
Guard- Lonzo Ball - 30 (4)
F/C - Anthony Davis - 26 (2)
Others receiving votes: Isaiah Austin - 26 (0), Jaren Jackson Jr - 25 (2), Jamal Murray - 25 (2), Mo Wagner - 18 (0), Trae Young - 18 (0), George DePaula - 16 (1), Khris Middleton - 14 (2), Semi Ojeyele - 13 (0), Kaiser Gates - 8 (1), Jabari Bird - 8 (1), Daniel Gafford - 8 (1), Ja Morant - 8 (0), Kristaps Porzingis - 7 (0), Justin Patton - 7 (0), Josh Jackson - 5 (1), Cory Joseph - 4 (0), Wendell Carter - 4 (0), Elfrid Payton - 3 (0), Terry Rozier - 3 (0), Hassan Whiteside - 3 (0), Kris Dunn - 3 (0), Frank Ntilikina - 2 (0), Furkan Korkmaz - 2 (0), Milos Teodosic - 1 (0), Miles Bridges - 1 (0).
Notes: The East squad looks straight up unstoppable. Newcomer Marcus Smart takes the honors of top vote getting in the East (its looking like there is voter fatigue with Ben Simmons) and DeAndre Ayton takes the honor for top big man vote getter in the East. SGA makes his way as a reserve and old man Anthony Davis still managed to sneak his way onto the roster as a Wild Card. Some interesting other votes being tossed around to certain players as well.
WEST
Starters:
Guard - Isaiah Cousins - 101 (19)
Guard - Isaiah Taylor - 100 (18)
F/C - Jayson Tatum - 120 (24) ** League High Vote Total/Number of First Place Votes
F/C - Michael Porter Jr - 114 (21)
F/C - Karl-Anthony Towns - 80 (12)
Reserves:
Guard - Malik Monk - 86 (7)
Guard - PJ Dozier - 53 (3)
F/C - Jake Layman - 60 (4)
F/C - Luka Doncic - 52 (8) * Was voted mostly as a F/C
F/C - Joe Ingles - 43 (3)
Wildcards:
F/C - Marvin Bagley - 34 (1)
F/C - Daniel Hamilton - 32 (1)
Others receiving votes: DJ Wilson - 30 (1), Michael Young - 25 (2), Lauri Markkanen - 18 (3), Bruno Fernando - 17 (0), Ky Bowman - 16 (0), Donovan Mitchell - 12 (0), Cameron Johnson - 11 (0), Matisse Thybulle - 10 (0), Joel Embiid - 9 (0), Coby White - 9 (0), Nassir Little - 7 (0), Dante Exum - 7 (0), Alex Caruso - 6 (0), Dragan Bender - 6 (0), Jarrett Allen - 6 (0), Markelle Fultz - 5 (1), Rui Hachimura - 5 (1), Shaq Harrison - 5 (0), Zach Lavine - 3 (0), Montrezl Harrell - 3 (0), Aaron Gordon - 3 (0), Jaylen Adams - 2 (0), Okaro White - 1 (0), Bam Adebayo - 1 (0), Laurynas Birutis - 1 (0), Justice Winslow - 1 (0).
Notes: Jayson Tatum takes the crown of most voted player in this years ASG and the West gets the second most voted player as well in Michael Porter Jr. Team Isaiah will start for the West as Cousins blasted his way onto the scene and into our hearts this season while the West has some crazy three point snipers on the roster to battle the East. Markelle Fultz nabbed a surprising first place vote and Lauri had a good number of votes considering he's been injured for a long time.
Congratulations to all of the leagues representatives and good luck in the ASG tonight!

Congrats to all the guys making it. I always get a kick out of the head-scratching starter votes. Josh Jackson and Daniel Gafford are fine players, but starting them on the East? With THOSE front court options? Simmons, Zion, Ayton, Davis, SJJ, Ingram, Parker... Oh CSL. Never change

Re: 2027 All Star Rosters Announced
But isn't the purpose of the vote for the All-Star is to vote for your favourite players? This is not an All-CSL vote for best players in the league.GreenBear wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 5:10 am Congrats to all the guys making it. I always get a kick out of the head-scratching starter votes. i.e. I'd always vote for Khris Middleton to start no matter where he is - why do I care if there are better players out there? These better players can be voted for CSL MVP etc but All-Star to me is a different type of vote.
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!

I'm a bit surprised both Layman and PJ made it, but we'll take it

Yeah, votes are always going to be personal otherwise how Zion and MPJ didn't get 100% starter votes with the PERs they're producing this season is crazy haha.

Look at Fox getting back on top of his game. It’s hard to complain about Jabari or SJJ when those other forwards are in the East.

Yeah engine is just super bad. Make your Guards use post and they rule. That’s why Cousins as well rules. I like dds3 more in that regard. Hopefully 22 is better!

I value Defense highly as well in voting for asg. So didn’t get starter gig from me if I remember correctly (regarding MPJ it is)

Re: 2027 All Star Rosters Announced
I mean that doesn't make some of the votes look any less silly, but vote however you want. It's all for fun and anonymous (unless you out yourself). That being said, there are always just as many (if not more) ridiculous votes for the year end awards. So I don't think it makes much of a difference what the votes are for.andrei wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 10:06 amBut isn't the purpose of the vote for the All-Star is to vote for your favourite players? Re: 2027 All Star Rosters Announced
i mean, can anyone legitimately say that terry rozier is anyone's favorite player. obviously there were some people that just bullshitted their way through this. Regardless, happy any surprised to see Tatum be the leagues number 1 vote getter. But West will get smoked with that lineup on the court.
FINALLY a logical HC Rule our work is done
