Dallas quarter of the Season review

Post by Sharkn20 »

The Good
Luka Doncic, he is playing the best basketball of his career yet (Minus turnovers) from the PG position, he is creating A LOT of offense, and currently is the 7th best player in Efficiency (26.5) in the CSL, the 2nd best PG in that category. With a line of 28.8 ppg / 8 apg / 2.3 spg / 4.9 rpg.
On top of that he has improve significantly his shooting selection thanks to his in-ball preference 42% / 39% / 86%, slowly becoming what everyone expected from him in the 2024 Draft. A true Superstar.

The Bad
The Mavericks are just 1-6, in games decided by 10 points or less, our inability to finish games, should improve as our young stars grow and the Roster changes shift this team in a more balanced force, you can make a case than if we were 6-1 on those games instead we would be 14-7 leading the Western Conference (A man can dream).
Exciting times in Dallas as when we were without injured starters the team is really, really good. Now with Simmons (11.4 Eff/36) // Kubolka (18 Eff/36) // and recently traded for Diallo(17 Eff/36), coming from the bench as #6 / #7 / #8 options we are becoming solid in that area of the Roster too to fight against more injuries and spell our starters.

The Ugly
Injuries, every starter or significant minutes back up in the Roster has had at least one minor injury, with some of them missing 2/3 weeks. The only that hasn't visit the infirmary yet (Touching wood) is Luka Doncic. Definitely we are hoping that this GM movement in the CSL at present, will yield some improvements in how the league handles the injury engine.

Jarrett Allen being hurt definitely helps, but I really like the makeup of this team and think you could make a run to get into the playoffs this year still.
