CSL MVP by the numbers
For this MVP ranking a simple formula was used which is (PPG*100+APG*300+ORPG*300+DRPG*150+SPG*400+BPG*400-TOPG*300)/MPG*TS%+Wins*2 This formula makes wins a significant factor.
MVP Rankings
1. Zion Williamson 217.6
2. Deandre Ayton 212.1
3. Ben Simmons 208.6
4. Michael Porter 205.0
5. Stanley Johnson Jr 204.4
6. Jabari Parker 187.8
7. Marcus Smart 182.8
8. Isaiah Cousins 178.1
9. Jayson Tatum 166.3
Its not really surprising Zion comes out #1 he is killing it on both ends of the floor. The 3rd year jump players make is real, and this isnt even Zions peak.
Ayton comes out #2 he edges out Simmons due to more wins.
Simmons is #3 which is probably the lowest he’s been since his 2nd season. The Heat giving a rookie 20+ minutes/game is costing the team wins which could in turn cost Simmons MVP. Expect Owens to return to the bench so the team can make a late season push for the #2 seed.
Porter lands #4 If the Kings can finish the season 2nd overall Porter would be the favorite to win MVP. He scores and not much else but he is so elite on the offensive end it makes up for what he is lacking elsewhere.
Finally SJJ shows up at #5. SJJ 5th is quite surprising considering the huge boost hes getting from 58 wins.
SJJ’s teammate comes in one position lower than SJJ but there is a pretty significant ratings drop. Parker will have a tough time winning MVP because he has to first prove he is better than SJJ.
Marcus Smart lands #7. This is quite surprising based on what Smart has been traded for. If the Hawks can make a late season push Smart will receive serious consideration. If they continue to struggle people will question if Smarts high usage play even makes a team with AD and Porter better.
Isaiah Cousins shows up #8. Cousins doesnt do well with these rankings but he has the attention of the league and is this years cinderella story. If the Clippers can turn it up and finish with 52+ wins cousins will receive multiple 1st place votes.
Finally we have Jayson Tatum at #9. Tatum is a big time scorer but seems to be getting outshined this season by Porter and Cousins.
The Long shots:
KAT Monk and Justice Winslow: Remeber when Kyrus said Winslow was the most valuable player on his team? He might not have been joking Winslow does well with these ratings and he leads the team in ON and NET rating. 36 wins is very disappointing for the team however and they would have to win every remaining game for KAT Monk or Winslow to get any consideration.
Isaiah Taylor: With Harrison out most of the season Taylor has carried the Suns, but with only 43 wins itll be tough for taylor to get any consideration.

Nice work Silo.
I agree, MVPs should come from teams with a top 3-4 record. Just the way it should be so a lot on this list with a good chance dependent on how the season plays out.

Re: CSL MVP by the numbers
I consider players from playoff teams and try to rate how much their influence is on the winning record. So this list is a nice guide!
Overall I don't care too much for the title though. That the team wins counts.

Good analysis - Does wins number take into account the games the said player missed?
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!

Yeah its a very simple ranking. I just wanted something to find the MVP candidates to take my opinion out of the process. Overall it came out pretty close to my opinion.

Such BS. Danny Hamilton has been playing through a broken wrist at MVP levels, among other injuries.
Must be nice to land a #1 pick every now and then. Fast track to a decent team - aka shitty GMs that got lucky.
