Lakers Young Core Update

Lakers Young Core Update
The Lakers are fully of young players so here is a quick look at how they are going from the rookies to the players a few years into their careers:

Ky Bowman : Bowman is nearly fully developed after his boom training camp and while many people dont like him for his lack of d , stockton loves him and this year has been a big improvement for him with his stats jumping everywhere from his nearly 6ppg increase to better fg shooting in just an extra 3 minutes per game.

Metecan Birsen :

Selected at pick 9 after a trade with orlando to send their future first round pick to them, Birsen has shown flashes of his future but has also had some weird games like last game going 4-18 . Birsen is still growing and getting an increase in minutes to see what he can do.

Nicolo Melli :

Selected with pick 10 with the lakers first round pick stockton beleives Melli was the best choice here thou there was more better defensive players out there Melli is a good shooter especially from 3 point range and a 87% conversion rate from under the ring.

Rui Hachimura :

Traded from the fellow division clippers for marvin bagley and others , Rui is yet to get his shooting right but stockton is working on him but what he provides is his defense , blocking and steals . Rui recently had a game where he had 9 steals and a game when he played for the clippers he had 7 blocks .

Kostas Antetokounmpo:

Kostas is one of stockton's fav players ( thats why i traded for him) and while he doesnt have the scoring he can put up good numbers elsewhere plus hes not going to take bad shots but the question is will he come back to the lakers because he will be a rfa at the end of this year.

Kostas was nearly traded at the deadline with collins but the Gm decided he didnt like the deal and went with another deal instead (which is upto him no bad blood )

Los Angeles Lakers first round pick this year still mathmatically a playoff chance but question is where will it land and who should the lakers take in the draft as it should be top 15 if it doesnt jump at the lotto ball drawing.

love the Offense/Defense duo of Bowman and Rui, i'm curious how this team shapes up in the next year or two, I think more off-ball shooting is needed

After Bagley's departure the team is in Bowman's hands.
Like Kyrus I like the fit with Rui. An additional 2way player would go long ways to take some scoring pressure off Bowman and also provide a + on D.

Maybe some of the other youngsters can fill this void or a trade can bring him in.
