DDS22 Transition (PLEASE READ)
Hi all,
We have been doing testing behind the scenes to test the "improvements" made between DDS19 and DDS22 and have decided that we will be officially transitioning to DDS22 starting with the pre-season.
We will run the off-season through DDS19 still, but will be officially transitioned by the time pre-season rolls around (we will likely have more pre-season sims to allow for teams to try different things out with the new engine).
These decisions are not easy for us, but due to some of the issues we have found with DDS19 we felt that this was a good time to make the change. Some of the benefits we have found are as follows:
User Interface
Not really important for us personally, but Wolverine Studios really loves focusing on these things and it is much better than DDS19.
Improved Free Agency
This game will likely bring back in-game free agency within the league due to the ability to add "promises" to offers. This should provide some intrigue long-term to the league, but we still need to work out the kinks.
Salary Modification
We now have the ability to set min/max salaries however we want in addition to changing our rookie scale contracts.
Pace Adjustment
Our league runs a pretty crazy pace in general, but we now have a global slider to adjust pace as needed. We need to test this out more to find out where we land.
Defensive Assignments
These seem to work a little better than they do in DDS19, which isn't saying much but is better than nothing.
In Game Coach Hiring
We are still vetting this, but we are most likely moving to in-game coach hiring as well to allow teams to budget their coach salaries as they want.
Creator Support
We have already had Wolverine make two major changes based on recommendations from our league. They only do this with the new games, so we do have some influence to make this fit our MP league better (until the new game is close to release).
Overall, there are still a lot of similarities (no new or changed ratings between 19 and 22) which allow for the transition to be a lot smoother than when we went from DDS3 to DDS19, but there could be some ratings adjustments based on the testing that is occuring right now. As always, we will make sure we communicate all of those out and allow you all to react to them before we jump into the new engine.
We will still continue to allow those GMs without the game to be in the league, but this change allows us to continue to improve and "mature" as a league.
As always, thank you all for your dedication to the league and we will be sure to let you all know when there are good deals on the new game in the near future.
Love,
The Admin Team

Was floor ranges tested as well? I think that’s the dds19s biggest downfall

Wolverine usually has sales around US holidays. It was 50% off Black Friday so hopefully more will come.Stockton12 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 9:48 pm the in game coach and free agency will take alot of work of your hands which is good

Super excited for this. I really really dislike even navigating 19'. I've been hopeful for this for a while now. Hopefully no one can hack into commish mode on this one.

I know you guys will test that extensively, but hopefully floor ranges work better in the new version.

Not sure if 22 better, but how can’t you feel good about leaving a broken engine behind?

Nice. I hope the SCR rating changes, because in this engine it still makes no sense to me.

The impact of the PAS rating on scoring. Still gibberish to me why high PAS = high touches = high shooting. But I'm no expert at anything about these engines I just make random trades and hope for the bestSharkn20 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 9:24 pmWhat doesn't make sense in your opinion??TheTwoWallaces wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 8:33 pm Nice. Re: DDS22 Transition (PLEASE READ)
Exactly my thought.
Agreed. High pass rating should make for better results when passing, but no reason why it should lead to more shot attempts.TheTwoWallaces wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 9:32 pmThe impact of the PAS rating on scoring.
