L vs. UTA

We lost by just 2 behind a stellar showing from Stephen Curry (30 on 4-9 from 3). Joseph came back with a vengeance, dropping 27/12/13 in his first triple double of the season.

whew. that was very nearly a 2-0 sim despite two of the worst offensive showings we'll have all year.

88-90 loss to Phoenix. I can't be mad about this all things considered. We shot an atrocious 37.6% from the field and 30% from three again a 16-4 Suns team, yet we kept them reigned in pretty well defensively except for Austin and Taylor We turned them over a lot and they missed all their threes which was very encouraging. A game to forget offensively for everyone on our team though. Seriously, everyone.

Monk: 26 points
KAT: 16 points, 13 rebounds

But our defense remained locked in and held San Antonio to 31.1% in an 85-74 win. We didn't really shoot much better, just 38.8%, but at least a couple of our guys shot their averages or better this team.

KAT: 19 points, 15 rebounds, 2 blocks, 7-15 FG
Kemba: 19 points, 5 rebounds
Lin: 15 points, 6-11 FG

--

Monk is slumping hard from three ever since the trade and that's hurt us, as he's actually the only significant volume 3-point shooter in my current 8-man rotation. It's stupid but I really miss Tyus right now

Lost by 7 to Boston on the road, then beat the Sun's at home.

I'll take the 1-1 on a b2b against two elite teams

If we hit our FTs, we win that game. Oh well, on to the next one.

Wins against Oklahoma at home and in Philadelphia. Good to beat the division rival that surprised everybody last playoffs. Given we are young I don't expect the season to continue like it started, but we are already doing quiet well despite the team still being far away from its ceiling.

Solid 18 point win over the Wolves at home.

We weren't great offensively only shooting 41.8$ from the field but we only had 8 turnovers and forced 26 which allowed us an extra 25 shot attempts. Doesn't really matter what you shoot when you shoot the ball 25 more times.

Important home win over Denver, as we hit the road for our first west coast trip next.
Pretty even game, we even got out-rebounded which is not too often.
But we shoot 15 FT (hit 19) more and that gives you the needed separation.

Portland Trailblazers - 110

Marcus Smart - 25 pts, 4 reb, 4 ast, 3 stl
Jordan Clarkson - 23 pts, 4 ast, 2 stl
Joe Ingles - 14 pts, 3 reb, 6 ast
Brook Lopez - 13 pts, 7 reb, 1 blk
Al Horford - 12 pts, 6 reb, 1 blk

Brooklyn Nets - 97

Myles Turner - 19 pts, 6 reb, 1 stl
DeAndre Ayton - 16 pts, 7 reb, 3 blk
Ty Lawson - 13 pts, 2 reb, 7 ast
Malachi Richardson - 11 pts, 4 reb, 2 ast
RJ Hunter - 10 pts, 2 reb, 3 ast
Dwayne Bacon - 10 pts, 2 reb, 1 blk

Another expected loss since we were still without Hezonja and VanVleet. We played a heavy, heavy zone and still only forced Portland into 13 three point attempts (in which they hit 6). Marcus Smart and Jordan Clarkson went 20-30 from the floor and really paced the offense for the Blazers. Pretty sad when we shoot 55% as a team and still lose by 13. Guess that's what happens when you turn it over 20 times compared to their 6 and lose the steals category 13-2.

It's a clean bill of health for the entire roster so we will welcome back our two top perimeter scorers with open arms after this 4-game losing streak.

While I'm sure this wasn't playoffs Miami (and I didn't change anything either this sim) this offseason I tried to make a bench to help with the issues Miami exposed. We beat Miami at home in a nailbiter 98-96. New addition Nick Johnson actually has a historically bad shooting night from 3, but my work on making Kyrie better at busting zones seems to be clicking finally. McBuckets joined the zone breaking as with a great game. Maybe next time Spanoulis should get some burn as I've never seen him shoot 0-10.

Kyrie was the leading scorer again as he's officially taken the mantle of alpha from Blake this season.

Phoenix Suns - 90, Houston Rockets - 88

PHX
Austin - 22 pts (11-16 FGs), 7 rebs, 2 blks
Taylor - 27 pts (11-20 FGs)
Hunter - 8 pts, 11 rebs, 3 blks

HOU
Towns - 16 pts, 13 rebs, 2 blks
Monk - 26 pts, 3 rebs
Walker - 13 pts, 5 asts, 3 rebs, 3 stls

Not a pretty game by either team, as our team was very sloppy with the ball (17 TOs), while the Rockets built the foundation of a brick house (38% shooting). Luckily Austin and Taylor did what they've done all year and saved us. It was ugly, but a road win is a road win.

Phoenix Suns - 89, Oklahoma City Thunder - 101

PHX
Taylor - 26 pts (8-10 FTs), 3 asts
Collins - 13 pts, 8 rebs, 5 blks
McConnell - 10 pts (4-7 FGs), 8 asts (1 TO), 3 rebs

OKC
SJJ - 30 pts (12-16 FTs), 15 rebs
MKG - 25 pts (9-12 FGs, 7-12 FTs), 7 rebs, 3 stls, 2 blks
Thompson - 12 pts, 3 rebs

SJJ and MKG drew a ton of fouls, and unfortunately that meant a short night for Austin (fouled out in 12 minutes). Seeing as he's seemingly half of my entire team this year (along with Taylor), we lost once that happened. Most of my team was either in the trainer's room or in foul trouble (5 guys with 5+ fouls). Not a recipe for success and we lost to a very good Thunder team as a result.

Bad road loss to the Bulls. Still trying to figure out the best lineup that we can throw out there, but Bobby Portis keeps making me not want to take him out of the starting lineup.

2-0, I am very pleased with that. Too bad we have no games next sim, then another back to back away games, smh lol.

WSH 133 NYK 106

Good defensive effort here, as we managed to force 20 turnovers, and we shot 54% from the field as well.

Teosodic 33 pts, 5 rebs, 8 asts, 1 stl
Napier 15 pts, 4 rebs, 8 asts, 4 stls
Rabb 14 pts, 4 rebs, 1 blk
Rivers 13 pts, 7 asts
Alkins 12 pts, 1 ast
Batum 11 pts, 1 reb

WSH 120 DAL 117

Won an away nailbiter against a talented, but GMless Mavs team. We controlled the boards, and made more shots.

Teododic 21 pts, 5 rebs, 1 ast.
Tavares 20 pts, 7 rebs, 2 asts, 3 stls
Batum 16 pts, 5 rebs, 2 asts, 2 stls
