Stupid Questions Thread

Post by Beercloud »

I thought Id ask a few of my many stupid questions that i have in my pocket. Maybe one or two of em can help other noobs like myself down the road.

Question #1
What do we use in game?
Is everything via forums or are there things in the game that we need to updoad?

A:
Myles Wrote:
I'm not entirely sure by what you mean "use in game." You can set your DC, submatrix and philosophy (not including offensive set) in game, and export a .tem file that you upload. Everything else (trades, signings, recalls/assignments, releases, changing your offensive set) is done via the forum.
Question #2
How do you export a .tem file?
Do you just hit the MP button in game?

A:
andrei Wrote
You export and tem file by clicking on MP button. Your file will be located in Multiplayer folder -> CSL folder -> file is in there
Question #3
Can we watch the sim(games) live in-game like we can in single player?
Or is it via box scores on html only?

A:
Dennis wrote:
Boxscores
Question #4
How do you guys measure how well your guys are playing defense individually? Or how well they match up against other players?

A:
Sun Scorched wrote:
Advanced stats In-game or the eye test via box score.
Question #5
Silogical Wrote:
Stupid question, why did my draft picks owned change since the last update?

I owned
2017 nothing
2018 MIA 1st and 2nd
2019 MIA 1st and 2nd

Now
2017 MIA 1st
2018 nothing
2019 MIA 1st and 2nd
A:

It's a bug that occurs during the draft.
Question #6
Does DDS PB3 simulate fatigue?
If so, does it simulate fatigue just for that game or do players get fatigued as the season goes on if they get too much playing time for what they can handle?

A:
marcos_beck wrote:
fatigue does not carry from game to game.

In DDS your player starts every game with 100% health (except for when they are injured and start under 100%, like if someone has a minor injury, he'll start at 90% stamina, you can see how much condition a player has when injured by accessing his player page in-game). The "stamina" decreases over the time he plays, influenced by your tactics (FCP, DI high increases the loss of stamina) as well as their endurance rating.
Then the next game, does not matter if he finished the last one at 80% or 50%, as long as he's fully healthy he'll be at 100% for the start.

The only thing that playing multiple games affects the engine is with injuries. More minutes played in the season = more chance of injury.
Question #7
When does the league start allowing fake players into the mix? Or does the league reset each time the real players pool runs thin?

A:
Chilikonkarne wrote:
Never. Every year, 60 rookies based on real players are drafted which cover easily the retirements
Question #8
How close are the comparisons to CSL players to their real life name sakes?
As far as how they will develop, style of play, success rate etc...
How much does the game affect these? (example: would Seth Curry or LeBron ever have a chance to bust in CSL)
When looking at players should i pay more attention to the RL player or the in-game player?

A:
BizGilwalker wrote:
In-game all the way. Especially for the younger players.
Look at the names that were drafted near the top. Undrafted NBA players went top 10 here
Myles wrote:
Style of play is attempted to be replicated as close as possible, talent level is variable.
Question #9
blackice wrote:
Have another question, so I figured out the matrix and set it up. How I do export it? I don't want to fiddle around and erase what I set up.
A:
Sun Scorched wrote:
I believe the button on the homescreen is "Send MP"(edited) which exports your teams .tem file to the "Multiplayer" folder. You then attach that file to your post in the DC thread.
Question #10
blackice wrote:
I bought the game. Where do I find the "Saved League" file?
A:
Dennis wrote:
Right below the header. The Link is named league file. You just have to copy paste it into the save folder.
Question #11
Willyjakkz wrote:
Is a player accepting a QO the same as a player signing a contract making them trade restricted until FA signees are able to be traded?
A:
Marcos_Beck wrote:
Yes, restricted until day 90. I've asked that to Dennis once.
Question #12
Silogical wrote:
My rotations have been out of whack for 3 games. If there is anyone that will help me with a sub matrix
A:
Marcos_Beck wrote:
You can also make it your "default" Submatrix by clicking it on "set lock" button (don't remember if it's this name, it's a lock symbol). This way every time you got a player injured you can set a new submatrix and then when he's back you can turn back to your default (locked) submatrix by clicking restore.
It saves you a lot of time when you have minor injuries bothering your team
Question #13
Player Instruction Limits: I see the limit per team is 10. Is that a limit of 10 changes per post, posts per season, or the number of players you can Instruct per season?

A:
GreenBear wrote:
It's the number of instructions you get per season

Wait, so changing your offensive set in game doesn't stay when The Simmer uploads our .tem files?

I think doing things through the forums forces leagues to use their imaginations a lil more which can bring uniqueness to it. Such as the rumor mill which is one of the better ideas ive seen around and also the use of player agencies. Good stuff

you can change all philosophies except for Offensive Set. This one has to be done by the Simmer. Otherwise it won't save

You export and tem file by clicking on MP button. Your file will be located in Multiplayer folder -> CSL folder -> file is in there

I think the games does it automatically when loading the tem. file
I changed my offensive set a lot during the playoffs (from zone to full court press) and they were taken into account

Ok my bad, I misunderstood. I think the Zone, Full Court pressure, Defense Intensity numbers are taken into account.
But the offensive set (Single Post, Drible Drive...) probably not.

Well F me then. Guess those experiments with the offensive set have been absolutely useless.

Hahaha - exactly.

Either The Simmer was changing your offensive set back every time just to screw with you..... or it needed to be entered manually.

While the first would have been hilarious..... probably the second.
