I have to figure out what my backcourt is first. I’ll definitely give the Mudiay/Rivers backcourt more time to see if they replicate what they did last 8 games for us last year.

Hilliard intrigues me as a tryout. We already know how Daniels did last year. There’s another guard we’ll bring in once trade gets posted.

Sykes will probably be odd man out

Do you view Mudiay as a complimentary piece or a franchise talent?

For pure coaching ability? In no particular order:

1. rh0xxy
2. Silogical
3. GreenBear
4. bt
5. Jon

There's others to consider of course, but those are the 5 that first come to mind.

Neither. He's better than complimentary but not a franchise talent. IOW, a core player (especially once his shot prefs are fixed) who can be a legitimate starter on a contending team.

No. It'll make commitment to rebuilding that much more important, actually.

Underrated: Ben McLemore - great two-way talent a lot of teams sleep on. Tried for years to get him from Sacramento. Too old for our window now though.

Overrated: Stanley Johnson Jr - counting stats guy who shoots poorly and only got a ring because of the talent around him.

I haven't. In fact, I haven't developed a specific style for this league at all, other than the one season where we went to the playoffs and I installed a press system. Jestorball is pretty much a relic of DDS 1 and 2 by this point.

Hopefully we'll start getting back to a coherent system going forward though. In fact, my pick at 3 could well be a system selection that draws some controversy.

Is the lack of a system been the main issue with the Lakers decline?

Probably. Plus, the picks situation at league start mirrored that of the IRL Lakers - only we didn't keep our protected pick and the classes where we've had multiple lottery 1sts have been among the league's worst. Lin leaving in free agency, etc. I've made my mistakes sure, but there's been a considerable amount of misfortune mixed in as well.
