Looks like Heath Walls (58) & Johnny Jackson(47) went up a couple spots

and

Calvin Morrison(43) dropped one

and

Alan Stowers(41) stayed the same

I think the overall effect is what's important.

1. Aside from a very few elite talents, there are no sure things.
2. Most players are physically and emotionally immature, and developing them into a good player is far from certain.
3. Ranking high school players is pretty much complete bullcrap anyway and is all but irrelevant to recruiting (marketing is a different animal).

Got my 3rd and final recruit sorted, but same as the other 2, huge drop in the rankings. Hopefully the ratings are better than the rankings when I get to see them!

Scouting and ratings are the best indication of what you'll get with a recruit. Rankings, especially the standard ones, are useful to help narrow the field but as a scouting tool they aren't particularly helpful. If you've watched the player at camps, scouted them live, and watched the film, you'll have a pretty good idea of the talent they have.

Noticed that my full roster this year are from Nebraska. So next year with Jon Evans(North Dakota) and Carl Shepard(Montana) coming to our university, we will start to expand its search further afield to get stronger talent and look for players throughout the Great Plains.

Marquette Fills Big and Small Needs

With a roster loaded with wing players, Marquette desperately need to recruit both a point guard and post player. By landing center Jermaine Nicol and point guard Raheem Barnes, they were able to address those needs with two talented players.

Nicol might be familiar to many Marquette fans, having led Milwaukee Mesmer high school to a state championship. Nicol was leaning toward accepting an offer from the University of Wisconsin, but changed his mind when the Badgers made a scholarship offer to Cliff Songaila instead. Marquette was happy to step in and snatch up the highly-rated center. Nicol is ranked 109 nationally.

Barnes will not be a familiar name to most fans, having gone unnoticed by many in the media at the Chicago Prep Revue. A diminutive 5'8", Barnes was not considered to be a major prospect, but Marquette targeted him early. "He grew up playing with some of the best players in the Detroit area (Barnes is a native of Warren, Michigan) and has flourished in physical battles in front of hostile crowds. He's just the kind of guy you want in the Big East," said Marquette assistant coach Chris Carrawell. Barnes is ranked 365 nationally.

Arizona State Last Commitment

Arizona State had to search the far North and beat out Santa Claus for their final recruit. He''s a Blue Chip Pf from North Pole, Alaska.
He played his H.S. ball at North Pole High School located in Fairbanks, Alaska

Name: Marques Heard
PF 6'8" with A rated agility and A rated inside shooting and a beast on the boards

National Overall: 85
National Position: 20
Regional Overall: 14
Regional Position: 4

Marques joins fellow recruit SG Micah Reid as Impact Freshmen, who should see immediate playing time on the hardwood.

God damn it! My big man recruit didn't meet the SAT requirements to enroll at Drexel. He needed 960 and scored 910. I'm so screwed next year since I stopped recruiting.

This is my time of year :)

My school either has the lowest or second lowest SAT requirement in California, so now is the perfect time for me to snatch up all the talented dumbasses left behind by the "better" schools

I got a little ray of sunshine in this miserable year with a late commitment from SG Ben Gottlieb out of Cleveland, Ohio. Gottlieb is rated the #69 prospect nationally and is my second Juco pickup of the year. Hopefully, he'll manage to improve our anemic offense.
