Definitely! The biggest impact will be on visits to the recruit, where a good pitch can take you from outside the top 10 to the first choice. Having your pitch right and matching what the recruit is looking for matters the most.
Are you guys saying a campus visit or an in-home visit? I have done a few campus visits and haven't been able to choose a pitch for the recruit.

Yes, home visits are the single most important recruiting event. Everything leads up to September 11 when you'll be able visit recruits at home. By then you'll want to know (1) who your main targets will be, (2) what approach will be likely to be most effective, (3) who your plan B and C players will be.

Don't rule out players with "some" or "low" interest at this point if you can find a strong connecting point with them (eg. your school is in his home state and Location is extremely important to him, or he has controlling parents who are alumni of your college). You can land recruits who don't even have you in their top 10 if you connect well with them.

Remember also that there are many recruits who want to play for a prestigious college, but might be the Plan E or F for those schools. You may be their 5th choice, but if the schools ahead of you don't make scholarship offers you'll land the recruit.

Hope this helps...

If I remember correctly you said he was a center ranked in the top-100. I don't see why UConn wouldn't have him on their radar.

So there I was today after submitting my scouting when...

I realized I have 0 scholarships this year. ha ha

Oh well, Guess I don't have to upload for a bit.

I'm almost positive that you wouldn't get that available scholarship until next season though.

Alex and Cyris - We made a team change for Dennis because he was at a school that had no scholarships. This is a one-time thing since we selected teams without seeing their rosters anyways. If you want to make a switch, let me know and I'll get that done before the sim today.

Not necessary, I'm terrible at the game so not getting fired will be a nice challenge

I'm almost certain that the information I am getting from phone calls is not saving from week to week. Anyone else noticed this or having this problem?

Anyone think they are closing in on targets they have a good feel for that will sign with them? I think right now I have three scholarships out to guys who may be higher than I would expect to sign but I've been making some noise with all of them and they are growing to the idea of playing for Drexel. I haven't checked the latest sim results yet so we will see how the last couple visits has gone.

I've got quite a few players who are pretty interested including a top 500 recruit which would be a huge get for a small school like us. Haven't offered any scholarships yet but I will next sim as I want to see the September updates.

Every month the rankings update. So the top 500 player I spoke of earlier was only a top 900 player when I first reached out to him. He may drop after August. So that's why I'm waiting. It varies incredibly and I don't take it too seriously, but I've found large schools lose interest in players of the rankings drop too low on a certain player.
