RAPTOR++ / Second Edition 2020-2021 CSL Season

by Chilikonkarne
For those who don’t know RAPTOR++, it is a tool that combine the ratings of each player (70%) and his efficiency in game (30%). Their capacities are weighted in order to value good rebounding for bigs for example.
The % in game is also considered in the ratings which probably change the balance from 70/30 to 60/40.

The tool premiere objective is to evaluate players value when it comes to trade or free agency. It has it flaws with some defensive aspects not taken into consideration (%STP, PA/SF).
However, I believe it bring a good overview in general and was well received the last years by the league.
I decided not to include team record since I like to compare the players over the years.

2020 - Stanley Johnson Jr. - Oklahoma_City_Thunder : 26.8pts, 48%, 1.1ast, 11.1rbd, 1.1stl, 0.7blk in 34.2min / EVAL: 90.9
2019 - Stanley Johnson Jr. - Oklahoma_City_Thunder : 22.5pts, 45%, 1.1ast, 10.4rbd, 0.9stl, 0.5blk in 32.7min / EVAL: 86.5
2018 - Stanley Johnson Jr. - Oklahoma_City_Thunder : 20.3pts, 48%, 1.1ast, 10.5rbd, 0.8stl, 0.4blk in 30.3min / EVAL: 85.7

Filter : A player has to play more than 20 minutes a game and at least 25 games to be eligible.

If Porzingis is the 4th best center while he's still 5-8 points away in basically every rating, he's going to be a god someday when those potentials are actually fulfilled.

Cool to see Dragic listed as the 10th best SG, Klay the 5th best SF, and Payton as the 6th best rookie. Studs.

Great to see Embiid trending up and I look forward to getting Wiggins in the mix to see where I can get him on the SG list since that's where he will play here in ORL. Gonna be a challenge.

19.8 minutes so he doesn't meet the 20 minutes criteria

Wall #1, Waiters #7 (with a bad slump), JaVale McGee #10 and Myles Turner #12? I can get down with that!

Rookies very different to Silogicals. Taylor ranked 4th here and for us, Cousins near last versus 8th here.

Yeah, it's been discussed here before. Silogical's ratings are based purely on the player's stats that season, whereas Chili's is a combination of some stats and player ratings.

Really good stuff, glad to see Dame represented but I'm surprised Monroe didn't crack the top 10. Close to 20/10 though I understand the case for the other big ahead. Always enjoy this series.

Some representation here from our team and happy with how KCP and Dipo are playing right now. Hoping our PFs can get on that list by seasons end. Going to miss these ratings when you're gone.
