RAPTOR++ / 2017-2018 CSL Season / Ep.1

Post by Chilikonkarne »

For those who don’t know RAPTOR++, it is a tool that combine the ratings of each player (70%) and his efficiency in game (30%). Their capacities are weighted in order to value good rebounding for bigs for example.
The % in game is also considered in the ratings which probably change the balance from 70/30 to 60/40.

The tool premiere objective is to evaluate players value when it comes to trade or free agency. It has it flaws with defensive aspects not taken into consideration (%STP, PA/SF)
However, I believe it bring a good overview in general and was well received last year by the league.
I decided not to include team record since I like to compare the players over the years.

2017 - Jabari Parker - Philadelphia_Sixers : 31.4pts, 48%, 1ast, 7.3rbd, 0.6stl, 0.3blk in 35.7min / EVAL: 86.8
2016 - Jabari Parker - Philadelphia_76ers : 26.3pts, 46%, 1.5ast, 6.1rbd, 0.7stl, 0.2blk in 36.4min / EVAL: 80.5
2015 - Jabari Parker - Philadelphia_76ers : 25.2pts, 47%, 1.5ast, 5.2rbd, 0.7stl, 0.3blk in 33.3min / EVAL: 81.6
2014 - Jabari Parker - Philadelphia Sixers : 17.1pts, 43%, 1.3ast, 4.1rbd, 0.6stl, 0.1blk in 28.2min / EVAL: 75.2

Filter : A player has to play more than 20 minutes a game and at least 10 games to be eligible.
Player not meeting this requirements

:shock: Did I miss something or was it a Freudian slip, typo, or inside information?

Walter Tavares to the Pelicans?

Edit: Nevermind, it was a typo... was about to say wow :oops:

Great seeing George on here again and some new guys emerging on here as well and Kyrie is ballin' out of his mind right now snatching the #1 PG spot.

Great article, I love it.

Great article. Ellis has quietly been putting together a special season.

Nice to see Howard remaining at #1 for centers and Melo at #8 ain't bad. Need to start translating these results into wins though.
