Ty Lawson getting his drink on with GF Ashley King
New York Knicks star Ty Lawson got busted for DUI in Los Angeles last night (12/31) -- his second DUI arrest this year.
TMZ Sports has learned Lawson was pulled over by CHP for speeding on the 101 Freeway early this morning ... and officers determined he showed signs of intoxication ... so they gave him a field sobriety test.
Didn't go so good for Lawson. He was arrested around 2:30 AM.
Cops say during the arrest, Lawson identified himself as an NBA player -- and was carrying $6,000 IN CASH on his person.
We actually spoke to Lawson as he and his GF Ashley King (former "Bad Girls Club" star) were leaving Le Jardin nightclub in Hollywood -- moments before they jumped on the freeway.
His bail was set at $5,000, and he quickly made the payment as he had to be in New York for a game that same night (1/1).
Lawson was also charged with a DUI in Denver, back in January.
Many question why Lawson would fly to Los Angeles after the game in Washington and head out on the town for New Year's knowing he had a game on the 1st in New York. While Lawson posted typical Lawson like numbers, 32 points and 8 assists one must ask themselves how GM DiogoFabbris is feeling right now.
TMZ Sports reached out to DiogoFabbris but at this time, we have not heard back from him. We will be keeping a close eye on the Lawson situation to see if there is any repercussion from the CSL league offices.
