Round 1 - Pick 22 - Miami Heat

Post Author: Silogical » Mon Feb 17, 2020 11:30 pm

Haywood Highsmith

Corner 3 specialist and not afraid to let it fly. Good enough handles to play SG and heavy enough to guard PFs. Haywood will make it difficult for teams to focus on Simmons.

Pros:
Scoring
Solid upside

Cons:
Raw
rebounding

Terrific corner specialist. He can also handle quite well for a wing. Aside from that he will contribute little else to the game, but when you have an elite skill like his corner 3s, you can live with him being one-dimensional. Had a feeling Miami would take him with one of their picks.

Creator's Note: This guy has the highest C&S tendency and the highest Corner location (by far) out of anybody I created. Those combined with his high-end shooting from the corner could be really huge. I'm very curious if these will make him shoot way more than you'd expect from his pedestrian SCR rating.

Miami is stocking up in even more shooting. Guess Silo knows something about 19 ;-)

He's probably the second best shooting specialist behind Huerter in the draft. He'll always have a job in the league draining 3s

Perfect pick by the Heat because if this kid shoots it's most likely going going in as long as he's standing in the corner. Like Kyrus said, that catch and shoot rating is one of the highest in the class so that plus a decent scoring rating could see him be a factor for the Heat off the bench.

Steal of the draft. People may overlook that a low passing action is equivalent to a high scoring rating. He was Top 3 on my board. Could be a Malik Monk type of player in the right setup.
