The New Orleans Pelicans accept.
We've been looking to fix the Klay Thompson mistake, and all it took was some poking and proding in the league to see if I could stir up some noise. I'm disappointed to say that it cost fan favourite Brice Johnson, who's been lost in the rotation due to the elite play of Zubac and Giles. This also show how elite Giles really has been during this stretch. 15/5 in 20 minutes, on a positive 50% puts him quietly in the race for 6th man of the year. Can he continue this play throughout the entire season? Who knows, but the Pelicans respond to his elite play by securing him the bench role.
This frees up some cap space as well, focused on giving Markkanen the biggest contract possible in the next season. Markkanen's going through his 4th year in the league, and will be looking for a max contract. We're just posturing to prepare as much as needed.
Happy to get the Bucks 2nd Round pick as well, it's a bit of a sweetner for me.

Thunder decided to make this move because we view the addition of Brice Johnson as a greater asset than the cost of the 2nd round pick and the flip of the draft picks. This does not affect our long term assets or plans, and we still have plenty of flexibility going forward.
