I used to like Bamba until actually saw his ratings stayed the same practically his career so far.

Hamilton I was coming around on but with him having Frank N and now Rozier GDP as one of a couple guys I could trade didn't make sense, neither did RoCo.

Value wise I think Mo Bamba has a little more juice, but fit wise it makes sense for Utah to make that move. Now it will be interesting to see if Hamilton can replicate that productivity in Utah.

As for Bamba, he will get the much needed PT, and hopefully SA will work on his shot selection.

I hope he thrives in SAS. Over the 16 games he started with us this year he was 11 pts, 10 rebs, 3 blks, 1 stl on 50% shooting in 27 mpg. Not always consistent but a beast on both ends for sure.

And a last minute trade snuck in it looks like and a pretty significant one. Cleveland gets a good PG here in Payton while giving up a late lotto pick this year and an unknown next year (almost a swap of Kyrie and Payton in the end). Its not a bad trade overall, but I feel it definitely hurts the Kings a bit this year to try and make a run.

Thought about just playing out the season then worrying about finances at the end but when I looked at it overall, I think we'll be okay because of our system. We're built on pressure defense and Rubio's 80 def, 80 stl, 71 di and 78 iq compares fairly well with Payton's 88 def, 76 stl, 84 di and 69 iq. The scoring impact from Payton to Rubio will be covered on Westbrook's return so I think we'll be fine especially given we've never had a passing point guard like this before.

Cleveland basically turns Kyrie, Johnson, Rubio into Payton, Steph, and Utah's lottery pick this year, and received more pieces in the process. That is objectively good. Very intrigued by this new look Cavs team.

Sacramento got less for Payton than I would've expected but they definitely have no shortage of PG talent to replace him and cutting salary was important.

Win-win.

Value wise I think Sacto did a good job getting some 1sts back, and a good replacement in Rubio + Nick Johnson back this year, as Payton is set to be an UFA this offseason.

Cleveland got a very good defensive PG in Payton, who's probably an upgrade over Rubio. Thompson is a solid player as well, and big tree is going to give him some big man depth. Fair deal for both sides.

And who said we weren't going to get a deal before the deadline!?! That's a pretty significant move for both teams so it will be interesting to see how both do the rest of the way.

Pretty good deal for both as they swap DEF 1st PG's who both expire with Payton being 2yrs younger.

Cavs basically trade Kyrie for Curry Utah 1st which in a vacuum is very light but it just comes down to how well Utah plays with Kyrie which will determine where the pick lands and also how well the Cavs play with Payton Curry.

I dont like haha. My Cleveland pick got worse again. Good deal for both sides actually. Not sure how losing Payton affects Sacramento though. Gonna be interesting.
