"Our roster is pretty loaded already so I don't think we would have room for Denzel Livingston at this time. Bringing in a point guard like Ty Lawson should provide us more than a steady hand at point guard. We also really like what Fred VanVleet, Chris Tang and Frank Jackson bring to the table. Livingston is a fine young player but the Nets will be alright without him."

How good would Brooklyn be with Michineau as PG after his third TC?

”Someone trying to boost their player’s trade value? Michu day is a nice young point guard with some definite skills but we are exploring all avenues when it comes to the point guard position.”

What do you think you most need to take that next step and get into playoff conversation? While you guys are improved, I think it's another case of late lottery this season due to the depth of the East, even though the West is stronger up top.

Hahaha, maybe. However, I honestly think a skillset like michi would be perfect fit for you.

"We need to consolidate our roster. If we can make a couple 2-for-1 deals where we move two pieces for one better player, it could really help round out our roster. Aside from consolidating, I know we need more balance on the roster. Between point guards (Lawson, VanVleet, Tang, Jackson) and big men (Ayton, Turner, Pöltl, Siakam, Meeks, Sakakini) we are very lopsided when it comes to balance. And while we have a bunch of players labeled as point guards, none of them are viewed as the point guard of the future. Finding that guy is our main focus right now.

If it's another lottery season, we won't be too upset. It's a bridge year for us and if we can challenge for the playoffs that would be great. I think if we can swing a couple deals early in the season we could be in contention for the playoffs. If not, we will sit back and let the young kids gain some serious experience and find out who fits our rotation and who doesn't."

"He has a nice skillset and would be a good fit. We have plenty of point guards we are trying to figure out how they fit with our team and need to see them play first."

I've heard rumors that Mario Hezonja has been roaming the streets of Brooklyn this off-season wearing a Jamal Murray Pistons jersey and snorting cocaine off of any surface he can find. Rumblings from around the league said that he had night terrors last season about his time in Detroit, but is there any truth to these rumors?

What output do you expect from your rookies?

"I can speak with 100% certainty that there is no truth to those rumors, although the City of Detroit does bring out the worst in everyone."

"DeAndre Ayton should play a pivotal role right from the start. He will be coming off the bench until we see how he catches up to the speed of the CSL. From there, I could definitely see him pushing either Myles Turner or Pascal Siakam for their starting position.

Jonathan Isaac is already a worthy defender, rebounder and shot blocker. We aren't really looking for him to score much, so having him slide in at either forward spot as a defensive stopper. I think Isaac will play his way into the rotation for a few minutes a night.

Dwayne Bacon, presumably, will be staring at a 'red shirt' year as he refines his game through practice and the D-League. We like his prospects as a slasher with the ability to force turnovers but know that he needs time to develop.

Finally, Frank Jackson is in a very crowded position of point guard with Ty Lawson, Fred VanVleet and Chris Tang all bieng labeled as a point as well. It may alleviate some of the log jam if we end up deciding to play VanVleet at shooting guard. With that said, we love what we saw out of Frank in training camp and truly believe he's going to push, and eventually beat out, Chris Tang for the backup PG duties.

With four rookies on the roster, we are going to need some of them to step up and play meaningful minutes early and often. It may not help us reach our goal of making the playoffs but it should benefit us in the long run."

Are you disappointed about ayton busting? Or do you think he will do better next TC?

"Definitely can't sit here and tell you we are pleased with the lack of improvement DeAndre has shown since training camp. Maybe that's a testament to how developed he was as a player coming into the league but we know there's plenty more potential to squeeze out of him before he has reached his ceiling. He's still super young so there's plenty of hope that he should continue to develop year after year."

For sure. Stanley improved during tc for 5 seasons. This TC is the only one he didn't improve. So you have basically 4 TC's left out of him.

Why isn’t Frank Jackson being considered for a starting job?

"I think with Ty Lawson being a veteran, he's going to be given the keys to the car to start the season because he's a proven player in this league. Based on preseason play, Frank Jackson will definitely have every chance to win the backup duties and perhaps push Lawson for the starting spot down the road."

With the pre-season now over and done with, the Nets are preparing for the regular season and, more importantly, their home opener on Halloween night against the Chicago Bulls. GM Rizzo and coaches Mike Woodson and Andrei Kirilenko are available for questions following their final practice.

With the recent news of your team being analysed for position-less basketball will we see Turner at point guard? Do you think your team is being singled out because it has so many versatile players?

Why did you choose to GM the Nets over the obviously superior Knicks?
