I can see someone like Ben Simmons who will stick with one team for a long time.
Big changes are coming in D.C.

To think next year will be Rozier's 5th year with me. He might actually retire a Thunder at this rate haha

I was surprised Rozier and SJJ weren’t on this list but they just haven’t been around as long as it feels.

Yeah. For sure

Justin Anderson(if he stays) will also be with me for 5 years, starting next year.

Crazy to think given the amount of trades I make.

Which player has the longest tenure on the same team in the CSL right now?

Yeah, any player that's been with the same team since the CSL started. Bledsoe would be another one.

Honestly that's more than I thought there would be, since this is such a trade active league lol.

And KCP. 4 players have not changed teams since CSL began. AD, Bledsoe, Kyrie, and... KCP

Nice but skewed article.

The trade restriction changing from 60 to 30 days had a whole lot to do with the uptick in trades.

60 day restriction made trading more pertinent because you had to be on point when you traded or you were stuck for most of the season if your timing was "off".

Not sure what faction of GM's or admins wanted the change (which I and some others were against) but nevertheless I am enjoying myself.

This may be the reason for a lack of history in the League.

That’s actually a really good point. There was also the 90 day FA restriction. Everything had a lot more weight then. I like that better

Yeah things changed, people started getting antsy to trade and the participation dwindled due to the 60 and 90 day restrictions.

The 30 day change came and guys were moved rapidly after that. Activity did improve alot though which was the goal.

Forget five years- the number of players who have been with their current teams for three years is probably shockingly low and most of them are probably on Sacramento, Phoenix, and Philly lol

Wonder if this has happened, but I am a Troy Daniels trade away from seeing 100% roster turnaround this season alone... Yikes

Agree on the 30-day trade thing.

Also, the 150% + 100k rule is another. I just used it to the extreme to take on a lot more salary and honestly I think it's BS. We should do it like the real NBA (150% or +$5m, whichever is lower AND you need to be under the luxury tax post-trade to use it).

Makes it way too easy to match salaries and take on infinitely more.

If the idea is to lessen regulation on trading and allow more of that, then it's fine. Depends on what the league is aiming for I guess.

The goal if I remember correctly was to boost activity in the league.

Activity takes a complete nosedive after the deadline for that reason.

Glad to have 2 Raptors on the list.
Next step will have to retain players I drafted (Cory Joseph, third year with the team).

Yeah there is complaining from the GMs one way or another - you are all never pleased, which I accepted many many seasons ago. It was always that we were too restrictive with trading and our activity hurt because of it so the new change increased activity significantly due to trading being easier to come by. In the end though, nobody forces anyone to trade so if you wanted to keep a good story line its easy to do - just have some self restraint.

I personally am a very stubborn GM that sticks to a plan sometimes to a fault to prove I was right, so keeping players like Kemba, KCP, and Hassan was always in the cards because I wanted to prove it would work instead of bail on my plan 8000 times like we see too often here. This next season I will make some big moves to change the team around a little, but will then stick with that plan for 5+ seasons until we prove we can win with it.

Haha, trading IS what drive activity you can't deny that.
