Rookie First Impressions

Post by emplep7 »

What do you all think of this years crop of rookies now that the new file is out?

Dunn looks like he has the potential to be the better player than Towns.

Russell will be the best player in this draft.

Towns looks mediocre, I pray for his development or he's going to bust relative to his pre-draft hype.

And yeah, it's like these players don't know how to dribble and are too dumb to pass a 3rd grade math test.

Well Murray looks like he can score and rebound some but thats about it (for now)

and yes, can't dribble or pass just like so many in the class

Same here. My file is on Sept 30th (rookie option) but rookie ratings are different from HTML (completely different)
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!

Barring their ability to make shots, I'm really happy with Delaney, Trawick and Kuzminskas. All three of them have SCR 50+ which makes them useful especially considering their draft slot. Delaney also has really well rounded ratings. Now they just need to make shots, but if they can, they will be solid role players

This class seems raw, but then again last year's class was a ready now class. It will be interesting to see if these guys can develop. I am just tired of rookie classes with poor DI.
Big changes are coming in D.C.

Yeah, DI has been an issue with recent classes. That and atrocious intangibles/durability. Quite a few potentially good players were ruined by that.

The DI issues seems weird to me. What players in the NBA have all-star type skills but can only stay on the court for 20-25 minutes a game due to regular foul trouble? The CSL is full of them. Only in the CSL...

Agreed, rarely you see impact players that constantly play with foul trouble in the real life.

That is quite weird. Its tough to imagine Middleton, a high IQ playmaker, scorer and defender who somehow does not have the ability to stay out of foul trouble. But I understand why this is done. That way you can inject more talent into the league without creating megastars in every class. Just create a good/very good player with a major weakness that will forever limit the player to that secondary status despite otherwise impressive ratings. Of course, we can always find the right strategy to take advatage of the strengths and reduce the impact of injuries.
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!
