Hello CSL fans, I'm Cindy Cindy along with Steve Smith and welcome to CSL Tonite! where Smitty will be talking about the CSL's dark horse All Star candidates so Smitty...take it away!"
"Well Cindy you got it right...what's the use in talking about the guys who are likely shoe-ins to be in the All Star Game so let's take a look at some of the guys who have a chance to maybe make the All Star Team...
First up I'm goin' ... Kristaps Porzingis, Dallas Mavericks...
Yeah that's right... and although he's only putting up 10 and 6... he has been a key in the Dallas Mavericks turnaround and yes they have John Wall, a Superstar who will certainly make the team but this kid was the beginning of the turnaround and has Dallas right behind New Orleans in the Midwest Division and has helped them become a projected Playoff team...
Oh and he's a rookie...
Next up I'm going... DeMar DeRozan, New York Knicks...
He has been an integral part of the Knicks resurgence putting up nearly 20pts 4 rebs and a stl while energizing New York to possibly sneaking into the Playoffs after their dismal start to the season...they're right behind Boston, only 4 games back in the Loss column and rising in the WIN column and this is due to DeMar DeRozan and now they have Chris Paul added to the mix expect New York to make an even bigger push...
Last up I have... Stanley Johnson Jr, OKC Thunder...
Stan "The Man" is playing all over the place for the Thunder...and it seems he's found a niche at PF and as the small ball CENTER for OKC...he's putting up 20 and 10 a night and giving the Thunder a fighting chance each time they hit the court Cindy and there you have it...my dark horse All Star candidates..."
"Thanks Smitty, that was awesome and I have to say you have me thinking one or maybe two of those guys may have a realistic shot at making the All Star Team... good night everyone!"

I can see SJJ making it, but that's about it.

SJJ was my #13 guy... too many good guards to slot into the Wild Card spot for the west

I voted for SJJ anyway. 8time has done great job utilising him and they are winning games also which is great to see. He may not be an All-CSL player yet but that's not the point of the vote
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!

West definitely has a lot more star power, which made it a lot harder to vote IMO.

DeMar gonna be fucking MVP of that game!
Or, he'll sit at home with me, eating popcorn and watching the game.

Re: CSL Tonite! Dark Horse All Star Candidates
That was hard as shit in the West. Each division has nearly a full All-Star roster. Probably should have 15 spots to vote for - some good guys get left off. And I wasn't even able to vote for my own players
I wasn't trying to be a contrarian but if it was close, I went with the guy who's having a good year over a good guy/name putting up usual numbers.

If you told anyone this time last season Stanley would play for the Thunder, win 22 games by all star break, and put up 20-10 in 30mpg they would have called you crazy.
But there's too many good players in the West, I don't see Stanley making the ASG this season.

Amir got a vote from me. I seen how bad your team was without him and he makes a huge impact. Without him, Grizzlies would be out of the playoffs. 27-27 is respectable and someone deserved an all star vote. So amir got it.andrei wrote:I voted for SJJ anyway. 8time has done great job utilising him and they are winning games also which is great to see. That's fine, everyone will vote differently. For me, though, I eliminated guys like Amir and even Monroe, because they didn't play enough games. I voted for guys worthy of a spot who also played majority of their teams' games.8time wrote:Amir got a vote from me. I seen how bad your team was without him and he makes a huge impact. I voted for SJJ.
More talent in the West knocks Melo out of the running. DeRozan has a shot, just didn't make my ballot.lakeshowak7 wrote:If DeRozan is a candidate so is Melo.

Oh shit Amir only played 19 games. Oops..
Someone from the Grizzlies deserved it though. They play as a team so it's hard to pick just one player.

I can't remember exactly who I voted for but I think I had DeMar and SJJ both on it. No rookies though.

if a Knick should be all-star, it should be Rudy Gay

It's not the MVP award.8time wrote:Amir got a vote from me. I seen how bad your team was without him and he makes a huge impact. It's the all-star game.
Pure individual statistics and performance matter here.
Everybody here tries to make every award about who generates the most wins and that's not really how it should go for the all-star award.

Some might agree, some might disagree. Obviously I feel record plays a big part in deserving who goes to the all Star game.
If not then Justin Harper should be in this article.
