Power Rankings - Introduction

Post by Dennis »

Welcome to another new part of the forum. We hired three guys that will create a powerranking at the end of every (reallife) week. Each of them ranks all 30 teams on their own. Afterwards the averages for each team will be used for the "final powerranking". We hope it will help to increase the activity even more and it will be fun to see teams rise and fall during the season. Also thanks to the 3 GMs that volunteered for this. It will be done anonymous. There wont be comments, it will be a pure ranking to encourage a discussion about the league.

Good idea. We did this for a while in the NLL and it always had a lot of comments. Looking forward to it.

Hope our guys continue to develop and move us slightly higher in the lower tier of teams in this yrs power rankings.

TBH since it's just a list, I personally don't care about the power rankings. It'd be different if there was commentary.

You have to be pretty active to keep this up. When we were doing it in NLL, I think it lasted to about 8 weeks until it became too much. I think if it happened once an in game month it would be a little more manageable.

Well, you guys added comments to every team. So yeah, that was way too much work. This way it was ranking 30 teams, calculating the avrages and post the table. Not that much work IMO. For example I get the Big Board done in 15 minutes. Pretty much the same work.

Not that you think the guys working on it havent been reliable, they had/have mainly computer problems.
Whatever, sadly it didnt work.

Power rankings are never easy to keep up with. I'm sure someone will do them for a league article in the coming future.
