Brian Schmitz: I've just heard from Magic General Manager Willyjakkz that they are finalizing a deal to trade PG George DePaula that also coincides with their move of the draft rights to PG Shaquille Harrison and their '24 1st Rd Pick to Phoenix for G Donovan Mitchell and the '24 1st of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

More details to come.

Unless it's a three team deal. But Harrison,.ORL first, GDP for Mitchell, sun's first + asset. Hopefully that player coming back has all star potential.. if not yikes

The OKC 1st was part of the original deal with me. The GDP trade is something I'm not involved in.

I misinterpreted the paragraph. Thought it was part of the deal.

Either way, GDP was traded for #1, looking forward to seeing what you get for him. He's a solid PG. Maybe a shooter?

I missed this. When did Orlando get Whiteside? Haha

Once again Orlando has lots of talent yet no shooting.
And once again they dealt their first after seeing their first this year becoming #1 overall.

Let’s see what happens. The talent is there, but this team is always easy to game plan for.

Yeah, not sure of the Whiteside fit yet since Drummond and Embiid had a hard time meshing, but I'm assuming there are other deals happening to get Orlando shooting.

You wish that was true but you know that's hardly happening. Willy refuses to add shooting to a very talented roster and will risk missing postseason again :/
No, Covington is not a shooter, nor are Wiggins and Jackson. When I talk about shooting I mean it for real.

Yeah, I wonder what the deal is, but this team will need shooting for sure. Now I am very curious since Whiteside is in Orlando now lol.

Eh it's a long season, even if we miss the PO's and the pick falls and is #1 again clearly I've thought that part through and ultimately decided a I like Donovan Mitchell better than whoever would be #1 in this upcoming draft.

Luka, Morant, Zion, etc... I like Mitchell more.

Also we missed PO's due to frontcourt injury, now I got 3 guys who can hold it down just in case.

IF the magic miss the playoffs, the pick will fall late in the lotto. I couldn't even land a top 3 pick when I had the most ping pong balls lol

So needless to say I'm not optimistic I'd beat the odds this time around with a significantly lower chance.

You'll be a lottery team this year so it doesn't matter, your pick will come in handy, Lil B put a curse on your franchise for talkin' shit and trying to extort info from me via pm :D

I'm genuinely curious. Every season I've been here every GM good and bad says Orlando needs shooting yet every move is contrary to that and every single team proves it running the exact same defense. Why? It can't be a fluke at this point.
