De'Aron Fox leading the young team to the second Round
Boston, Massachussets - the Boston Celtics, lead by their franchiseplayer De'Aron Fox, beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round and will advance to the second. With the win the team in green makes up for the Eastern-Conference-Finals loss to the Cavs from two years ago. As widely known, the Celtics' management is still mad about the 4-3 upset back then, as a game7 win could have secured their first finals-appearance.However, this year it was different. After losing game 1 at home, the staff mixed up the rotation. Aaron Gordon, who started in game 1, were moved back to the bench as well as defensive juggernaut Isaia Cordinier who got benched for point guard David Michineau.
GM Dennis said:"Well, we knew that it would be tough for De'Aron to score against Payton. So we decided to let him play the offguard as much as possible. Michineau is also a great counter to a high press guard system. His handles are super tight. We faced (maybe) the best defensive point guard, so his only 1.5 turnover and 4.7 assists has been a huge factor in those games. It will definitely be an option to let him start again in the next round depending on who the opponent is. While Fox lead the team for us with 20 points, 7 assist and 1.5 steals on insane shooting percentages, we are tough to counter as we have many options on the team. That has just been proven in the first round as we had 6 players averaging 10 or more points."
