Brian Schmitz: C Andre Drummond is set to début vs the New York Knicks and the city, team, and even League has been eagerly awaiting since he was traded to Orlando for C DeMarcus Cousins last season.

Sign of things to come??? Too early...

"I cannot wait... I've been sitting here watching on the sidelines and it seems so surreal that the moment will finally be here... very excited", said Drummond.

Rumor from the Front Office is that Coach Van Gundy will sit C Joel Embiid out and allow Drummond to start at C to get in a groove and build in-game cohesion with the team.

Interested to see how the team dynamic changes with them coming back. You're falling down the standings and its getting to the point where teams will start making moves to jockey for playoff position.

I do think the Wiggins at PG experiment needs to end though as I think you fall in that middle of the road category at best (like Indy, Portland, Atlanta, Minnesota) without having a legit starting PG. With a good PG on top of Wiggins, Embiid, and Drummond I think you could be a dark horse in the playoffs and go pretty far.

Haha, hopefully more than a few! We can make a PO run I believe it :)

I wanna see what Drummond can do in substitute of Embiid with the starters. Very interested to get him back then go with the power front court afterwards.

I love your experiments throughout the year Willy. Hopefully you managed to learn something new about the engine and your team. Will be interesting to see how AD fits into your rotation

Should be interesting to see Embiid/Drummond together. My gut says that they will be good but not an ideal pairing. Still you're definitely better off with them than having to start Seraphin and Tucker

Average in his return (B2B v NYK MEM)

25pts 15rebs 3blks .750 FG 1.00 FT

Welcome back Andre! Finally get to see what you can do on the court!

You should lower his minutes though. He's coming off a crazy injury. You might lose him again if you keep pushing his minutes. Same for Wiggins btw.

Incredible return by Andre, making it known that he is one of the best centers in the league.

Also I completely agree with what Dennis said. Drummond playing 36+ mpg is bonkers

PS: like Myles said, definitely one of the best center in the league

Great return by Andre, but it makes no sense to not even activate Embiid now that he's healthy too. You can easily make it so that they won't play on the court at the same time if that's what you want. But it's a huge waste to not at least have Embiid enter the game any time Drummond leaves it.

At the very least, to Dennis and Myles's point, use both to keep each others' minutes down to prevent injury.

His showcase performance should solidify that for those who forgot or those who haven't seen him play due to him not playing in nearly a year.

Prime Dre only 28yrs old

Sidenote: Would love to see who you feel are the Top 5 C's in order in the League

Definitely an impressive performance by my personal favorite C just due to his years as a Piston, but I'd like to see a bigger sample size. I still think without a true PG on this team, its going to be a rough year. But man, if you added a good PG this team would be top 4 in the East with the top level talent.

Drummond looked dominant in his return, now it will be interesting to see if he can workout well with Embiid, as Embiid was having a career high year before he got hurt. You will definitely need to manage their minutes, as both of these studs have had big injuries throughout their careers.

And now he's inactive? Why not just have him come off the bench, set them both the "C" only in the depth chart, and that way at least both Embiid and Drummond are playing? They'll never play together, which it seems you are trying to avoid at the moment, but you can get production out of both?

You didn't answer Myles's or my question though. Why are you consistently inactivating one of Embiid and Drummond? You can easily make sure one of them is on the court at all times while at the same time avoiding them playing together.

"Didn't answer myles or my question"... what are you a cop? And if not you
actually quoted the answer which will be elaborated in forthcoming article.

Once equals "consistently"? Ok...
