After promising to re-sign before Free Agency, Jake "the snake" Layman, betrayed his former team the Brooklyn Nets, and went to arch rival, The Maimi Heat.
The move that shocked the CSL world, he took the Nets to Game 7 of the CSL playoffs, posting 15-5-5 averages in round 1.
This shocked GM Rizzo, who just had to match an offer sheet for Myles Turner. Now this leaves a hole for the Nets and Jake can slither his way to the Heat. Jake and the Heat had talked for several days and agreed, as soon as Myles Turner re-signed, Jake would sign close to max with the Heat, so Nets couldn't financially re-sign him.
When asked about this, Jake replied "this is a business and a cutthroat one at that. I had to do what was best for myself and my family. I am glad to be joining the Heat and am looking forward to winning championships with Damian Lillard".
Where do the Nets go from here, after this surprising move?
Will John Wall be traded, since gm Rizzo hinted at rebuilding?
Will be interesting to see where the Nets go from here.
