PG / SG Doncic's dilema
As Sharkn20 gets the grips of his new team, there is an immediate question around team building.
Is Luca Doncic a PG or SG?
Let's see the main ratings, Luca is fantastic at passing (86) and handling (79) with still a tiny bit room to grow. His court IQ is off the charts with (91) and his ball actions are pretty much varied.
With those ratings you can think he is the one that should have the majority of the time of possession in the team, organising and spreading the rock around.
However with his ability to steal (70) or defend (62), and how good he can change directions to go straight to the basket then deciding if he wants to lay it out or kick it out to a shooter, he is equally able to play SG against less skilled defenders in that position.
Sharkn20 first idea is to get Doncic running the Point and get a more specilised 3-point shooter at the SG position.

Conversely, I think he's better at PG, and he's someone you probably want to force extra touches to. I'd want a solid backup ball handler that is capable of starting though.

I'd give him a first go at PG and switch it up if problems arise. Like KW said, give the man the ball

PG unless you get a much better ball handler and passer which is very hard to find right now.

I will echo what everyone else said and think he can be a dominant PG in this league for many many years.

Where has he been playing this season? Play him at the opposite position for the first month of next year, and then find out for yourself by comparing his stats and metrics.

Re: PG / SG Doncic's dilema
He just needs the ball in his hands as much as possible. To me, that means he's a PG.

Re: PG / SG Doncic's dilema
Like most here, I believe he would thrive as the main lead guard. Of course he’s a combo guard and that’s a nice problem to have; but if he was 6’3 nobody would question his real position. He can make plays for himself and the others, so he’s really a PG.
