Fox returning to Boston

De'Aron Fox will be wearing a Celtics Jersey for another 5 years

The Boston Celtics agreed on a 5 year deal with their Point Guard De'Aron Fox. Fox is signing a deal close to the max to try to win a title with the Celtics. Fox, who was named ROY, made it to the all star game several times and dominated the league in the DDS3 era, will be earning 13m per year. While De'Aron couldnt live up to his potentials in the DDS19 times, he still is the Celtics clear starting PG and a top 10 PG league wide. While his regular season stats havent been too good, he showed what he's capable of in the playoffs averaging 26 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds, 2.4 steals on 47/47% Shooting splits.
DeAron Fox has agreed to re-sign with the Boston Celtics.
Starting Salary: $13,000,000
Years: 5
Raise: 3%
Option: None
Total Value: $68,900,000
With Fox returning the Celtics have resigned most of their core-players for the upcoming years with only Tryggvi Hlinason needing an extension next year and Miles Bridges the year after. Looking at the current cap-situation and the fact that the 18m contract of Aaron Gorodn will come of the books next year, it looks like the chances are high that they will be able to bring back those two aswell.

Rumors are also having that the front office decided to make Fox and Bridges their focal points offensively and that they are currently shopping offensive weapon Skal Labissiere for a better fitting piece. While many offers have been received, non of them fit the teams needs (rebounding, range) yet. It has to be seen if the Celtics will be able to strike a deal before the new season starts.

It's a no brainer to keep him and not much you could do with the contract given the Pelicans and Thunder both going after him. Interested to see what you can do with Skal

Personally I'm a big fan of Fox, so I don't entirely understand why he'd resign back to Boston. On paper it makes sense, as Fox starred last season as the 2nd best player on a competitive Celtics team. But behind the scenes, GM Dennis Jo has been doing his own thing. The Boston Celtics GM spent all of last season ragging Fox on his poor "below top1" performance, stating how he was completely disappointed in the lack of favorable calls at every given point in the season. And still, he was gifted with the return of De'Aaron Fox.

And Boston is relatively racist, compared to other top franchise locations. I just hope Fox has some reason to stay in Boston, cause I don't see one. His GM hates him, his city hates him, but Fox is still blindly loyal.

Ha, you are confusing words. Fox became worse in the transition, that's what Im saying. He's still a ~Top10 /Top8 PG but not close to his DDS3 self. Also not sure if the City Boston is racist in reallife. I just hope you dont use the City Boston as metapher for me as I would be disappointed if you see me as racist.

Yeah, Boston's racist in real life. It's unfortunate. I'd never say anything that isn't true about you, and you being a racist just isn't true. At least, to my knowledge. Don't prove me otherwise though lol. Here's a link to an article from current NBA player Marcus Smart of the Boston Celtics, talking about how racist they are.

Just playing with how you can rag on Fox all season and have no repercussions because this isn't real life lol. Normally a franchise player wouldn't want to stay with the team who's owner genuinely spent all season hating on their existence, but it works out cause this isn't real life.

I envision some serious point guard battles in the Atlantic between Fox, SGA, Lonzo, Fultz and Cory Joseph.

No surprise here, as you have pretty much set up your cap space to be able to resign him as a core piece.

I think this is a fair deal, I have Boston and Miami as the teams that need a chip to cement themselves as the elite of the elite. Anyway, as other mentioned, the PG depth in our division is historically good. Every game is gonna be a blood bath, should be fun.
