2024 All Star Rosters Announced
Thanks to all who voted as we had 21 GMs vote in this years ASG.
Any players from teams who did not vote in the ASG who were nominated were bumped down one tier (i.e. starter to bench, first reserve to second, etc). Below are the rosters for the game tonight:
EAST
Starters - total votes (1st place votes):
Guard - DeAaron Fox - 90 (18)
Guard - Lonzo Ball - 63 (6)
F/C - Ben Simmons - 100 (20) **Eastern Conference and League Top Vote Getter
F/C - Jabari Parker - 92 (16)
F/C - Anthony Davis - 74 (13)
Reserves:
Guard - Dante Exum - 56 (8)
Guard - Kris Dunn - 38 (3)
F/C - Blake Griffin - 49 (3)
F/C - Stanley Johnson Jr - 44 (5)
F/C - Myles Turner - 33 (1)
Wildcards:
Guard - Milos Teodosic - 37 (5)
Guard - Trae Young - 37 (2)
Others receiving votes: Kyle Kuzma - 30 (0), Kawhi Leonard - 28 (2), Jamal Murray - 19 (1), Cory Joseph - 14 (0), Brandon Ingram - 12 (0), Andrew Wiggins - 6 (0), Julius Randle - 6 (0), Kevin Knox - 5 (1), Josh Davis - 5 (1), Rashad Vaughn - 5 (0), Ike Anigbogu - 4 (0), Denzel Livingston - 3 (0), Victor Oladipo - 3 (0) *Injury DQ, Kaiser Gates - 3 (0), MKG - 3 (0), Wendell Carter - 3 (0), Justice Winslow - 3 (0) *Trade DQ, Eric Bledsoe - 2 (0), Mario Hezonja - 1 (0), Dennis Smith Jr - 1 (0), Bryce Cotton - 1 (0), Skal Labissiere - 1 (0).
Notes: The East looks stronger than ever and its lineup from top to bottom is very well rounded. Ben Simmons is the leagues leading vote getter for the 2nd year in a row which is no surprise as he is by far the best player in the league. Someone voted Kevin Knox (it wasn't Dennis) in as a starter spot after only playing in a handful of games. Additionally, Kaiser Gates is the only rookie to claim a single vote in this years ASG.
WEST
Starters:
Guard - Malik Monk - 73 (12)
Guard - Terry Rozier - 71 (9)
F/C - Jayson Tatum - 90 (15)
F/C - Nikola Mirotic - 50 (5)
F/C - Paul George - 49 (5)
Reserves:
Guard - Isaiah Taylor - 60 (10
Guard - Marcus Smart - 24 (1)
F/C - Kristaps Porzingis - 92 (17) **Western Conference High Vote Count - Bumped 1 tier
F/C - Lauri Markannen - 45 (3)
F/C - Okaro White - 31 (4)
Wildcards:
F/C - Daniel Hamilton - 32 (5) *Bumped 1 tier
F/C - Isaiah Austin - 27 (3)
Others receiving votes: Otto Porter - 29 (3) *Bumped 1 tier, Derrick Rose - 23 (3), Zach Lavine - 22 (1), James Harden - 21 (1), PJ Dozier - 18 (0) *Bumped 1 tier, Karl-Anthony Towns - 13 (2) *Injury DQ, John Wall - 12 (1), Frank Ntilinka - 12 (1), Marvin Bagley - 11 (1), Davis Bertans - 11 (1), Andre Drummond - 9 (0), Kemba Walker - 8 (1), Zach Collins - 6 (1), Khris Middleton - 6 (0), Kevin Durant - 6 (0), Malik Beasley - 4 (0), Montrezl Harrell - 4 (0), Richard Solomon - 3 (0), Jusif Nurkic - 3 (0), De'angelo Russell - 3 (0), Zhou Qi - 3 (0), Russell Westbrook - 1 (0), Klay Thompon - 1 (0), Mo Bamba - 1 (0), Markelle Fultz - 3 (0) *Wrong Conference DQ
Notes: The Western rosters are very different from years past and do not look like the power house they used to. For the second year in a row, the Western Conferences leading vote getter had to get bumped a tier as Kristaps Porzingis drops to a reserve. Markelle Fultz got a vote as a rookie, but it was for the complete wrong conference and as a F/C so that won't be counted.
Congratulations to all representatives and good luck tonight!

Tatum with the 4th most 1st place votes is awesome to see. Shame that Porzingis won’t be a starter, would have helped against the beast frontcourt that is in the East.

Re: 2024 All Star Rosters Announced
Man, Jabari / Simmons / Davis is nuts. It's just too good to be true.
Eager to see Mirotic trying to guard Davis in the post, Porzingis would have been of great help for the West.
Overall, fair voting, love to see Trae and Dunn making it, well deserved!
Wished Derrick Rose made it, guy is absolutely out of control right now but for a bad team so that hurt him a lot.

Love to see Myles Turner making the team and even gathering a starting vote! Thanks to the GMs who got him into the game. Rashad Vaughn got a few votes as well which is great to see.

Re: 2024 All Star Rosters Announced
He's put up great scoring numbers, but that's it and it's largely because his team is so bad. 3.4 turnovers is bad, he's doing nothing in defense, his efficiency is only okay, and he played only 21 games. He shouldn't have even come close if we're being honest.Marcos_Beck wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 5:05 pm Wished Derrick Rose made it, guy is absolutely out of control right now but for a bad team so that hurt him a lot.

Re: 2024 All Star Rosters Announced
Love the western frontcourt vote for Markelle Fultz, that's too funny.
And as I feared, Kemba stole a few of votes that should've been Harden's... Presumably from people wanted to give Houston a second all-star. Come on, you all know Harden's the better player.

Really happy that both Young and Dunn made it to this year's ASG. They've been absolutely amazing for us. Hope this is just the beginning to the rise of this Charlotte team!

I wish Payton had gotten a vote. His defense goes unnoticed but not many guards with his defensive stats.

I bet Payton would get noticed more on a team that isn't struggling for the 8th seed.

Re: 2024 All Star Rosters Announced
This feels like a snipe so imma take it that way lol...
We were the 5 seed one sim ago before voting ended and the 4 seed before my 2nd best player was injured? You gotta talk accurate smack friend. That's as bad as Toronto talking about locking up the #2 seed when they were 7 at the time. The East is a real conference where you don't get to play GS or Minn 4 times lol.
Now if you wanna say it's because he's not flashy that's a argument worth having. He didn't get voted when he won a ring in Sac either. Anyway, we've already got one heel enough in the league. You're welcome for that Lauri vote btw

Re: 2024 All Star Rosters Announced
Jesus Christ.
I know I personally voted Blake Griffin (I think to start), Oladipo (who got consideration votes), and this guy is complaining about Elfrid Payton not being noticed... So you want 3 of your guys to be on the team.
I remember voting Rozier as that Spurs team has been a great surprise. Definitely felt Cory Joseph should be an All Star (my vote), didn't vote Milos as his Wizards team was not performing better than other deserving guards.
Seriously, how the hell did Mirotic get votes...as a starter no less? So sick of seeing Isaiah Austin barely making this team every yr...
Should stick with the computer picking the team if guys vote for Kevin Knox and Markelle Fultz (in the wrong Conference).
Thx for voting Wiggins as being considered.

Re: 2024 All Star Rosters Announced
LOL I don't want three guys honored. Where do you infer these things? I said I wonder why Payton never gets all-star votes despite being possibly the best defensive PG in the league. That included all his Sacramento years as I wasn't even specific. Saying you wish something is hardly complaining. We've seen complaining before. Zones for example.

I personally give roughly 0% weight to defense when voting for the all star game.
