Second look at Free Agency Class (unrestricted)

Post by Flaming Homer »

Good thing Andrew got this thing going.
I had this little outlook planned and started for a while now, but always pushed it further ahead ...

We are just closing in on the all star game, but quite a few teams have their eye's already ahead ... the off season.
First off course the draft, but right after it comes free agency and it seems we have a good class of free agents this year.
Highgrades article last year was very helpful to me, so I decided to have my own list.
I tried first only the unrestricted FA and hopefully can follow up with a list of restricted + options.

Since the format worked well the last time, here again the external link: http://www.keep-at-it.de/images/csl/urfa.html

Feels like an old FA class with a lot of the best players being 32+ (Durant, Curry, Rose, Westbrook, etc). I’m expecting the largest contracts this offseason going to Porter, McLemore, Gordon, and Tavares

Nicely done. Should be an interesting summer for sure.

For the record we will try to bring back Aminu, who has been a long time favorite of mine dating back to the early months of the CSL through my finals runs, and he's been an important part of our "revival" this season.

This age around 32 makes it really interesting. Should I offer them still max to have chance but risk sitting on the tail end of the contract? ...

And I was surprised to see Aminus minutes and numbers this year. He looks sharp.
I was expecting him to rot on your beach the whole year ;-)

AWESOME article. That's a really great bible for the next offseason for teams with capspace. Going through it I cant deny that we are pretty much 100% set to have to offer McL and Gordon the max from day one. Afterwards it is just hoping we don't get Clippered.

You should get some bonus points for this article. I cant believe you even looked up all the stats. That's super crazy!

nah Aminu is a really good player. He's giving us great defense and 12/8 in about 27mpg, which is pretty much par for the course. if he's rotting on a bench, a GM is making a mistake.

If you start digging in the numbers it's not much work, its fun to see some of the stat's especially if you find some you don't expect like with Aminu.
And if I ever want to bring this train wreck back into real contention, I better do my homework ;-)

McLemore has been underrated his whole career IMO. Definitely getting a max offer from us, regardless of what we do in the draft.

Porter is a no brainer and we'll probably look to sign and trade Westbrook or let him walk. We're not afraid to let players walk versus overpaying.
