Conference Elite Cards

Post by Rizzo »

We would like to introduce you all to the two newest cards of the Champions Team universe known as “Conference Elite” players. With our first trade-in sets revolving around acquiring players from within divisions to grab one of the better Starter+ cards, the Conference Elite cards will follow suit.

What does that mean? Well, in order to obtain the Eastern Conference Elite card you will need to trade in the three Starter+ Division players: Starter+ Kawhi Leonard, Starter+ Troy Brown and Starter+ Kyle Kuzma. To get your hands on the Western Conference Elite card, you need to trade in Starter+ Davis Bertans, Starter+ Bradley Beal and Starter+ Jaylen Adams.

If you’re trading in three players like that, you would expect to be receiving a pretty powerful card in return, right? Let’s take a look at the Eastern Conference Elite card first:

This right here is Miami Vice Ben Simmons, representing as the Eastern Conference Elite card! We want to tell you up front that his ratings are not what they are currently in the CSL. That would be too powerful of a card to release at this early stage of the game in Champions Team. With that said, Simmons is still going to be one of the top-2 cards in the game immediately (along with the Western Conference Elite card).

While Simmons may not average 30 points per game here in Champions Team, he’s going to do just about everything on the floor and do it better than almost anyone else on your roster. If he’s matched up against basic Starter players, he’s going to have an absolute field day! Even against some of the better Starter+ players, his combination of size, strength and playmaking ability is going to be too much to handle. Get your hands on Simmons and there will be infinite ways to build your CT roster around him and be competing to win event after event!

As we head over to the Western Conference, we wanted to pay homage to a player that has been dominant for years but hasn’t exactly received the respect that he is due. Check out your Western Conference Elite card:

The Phoenix Suns have been damn-near dynastic for a decade of CSL seasons in the Western Conference and Isaiah Austin is a huge reason why. A mismatch nightmare on both ends of the floor, Austin is a hugely efficient scorer both inside the paint and beyond the arc. He spends three-quarters of his minutes on the floor in the paint while spacing out to the corner as well with a more-than-respectable jumper that makes him the best stretch-four in the CSL.

Not only is he a gifted scorer but he’s got great handles to be able to take slower defenders off the bounce and get to the rim at ease. While his handles aren’t on Ben Simmons’ level, Austin has a jumper that goes with it. That combination makes it easier for him to score as the defense has to play both the shot and the drive. While he’s not going to dominate the glass, he’s a respectable defender both on the wing and in the paint as he uses his length and timing perfectly to be an effective rim protector.

While Simmons is the Swiss Army Knife of players to build around, Isaiah Austin will guarantee you of having an alpha male on the offensive end that will shoulder the scoring load. Grab some role players around him and let him go to work!

You have to complete three trade in sets though so it should be a while before anyone gets their hands on these cards.
